Man.. people will bitch about anything. Either a game is 'too kiddie' or 'too gory'. None of you will ever just sit back and try to enjoy something for what it is.
Obviously the marketing is designed to show they aren't holding back.. you won't have bloodless enemies and you won't have cheesy fade-to-black sex scenes. But if they did people would bitch about that too. "How come when I chop off a head there isn't blood everywhere" to "How come I am covered in blood when I chop off a head"... developers can't win with some of you and luckily they've long since stopped trying.
i don't think anyone bitches about the fact, that there is "too much blood", but about the emotionless blabla of the characters covered in same blood.

Big ddifference.
Yeah, but we have no context of when those conversations are occurring. It's obviously clips spliced together from in game events, and using a tiny bit of logic would suggest they are occurring just after battles.
I can very easily see that latest one happening just after you save his ass and slaughter whoever captured him.
Now if you just walk peacefully through town and blood is spurting all over you whilst you converse about the latest medieval football game, sure. I would think that is poorly done.. but no one really thinks that is remotely the case.. do they?
All i know is that they havent made a bad CRPG yet.
Always a first time, but i don;t think this will be it.
Can't wait myself.
Certainly, I've got it on preorder myself, but mostly due to the toolkit and all the awesome stuff that I know is going to come out of the modding community with time - this is just a bad development, for a studio to rely on it's fans to create content.
And it'll no doubt be fun to play in multiplayer, I just can't get over the blood and how badly done, and overdone it is.
If there were more competition in the rpg market for modding and multiplayer and there were other studios out there creating good AD&D rpg's then I might not get this one, but as it is, there isn't

Are you talking about the fan made content or does DA have any form of multiplayer?

Hmm no, I was just informed by SpykeZ that there isn't, it was listed as a feature where I preordered it though, but if I can't enjoy adventures with my mates then sod it. Preorder cancelled
I had assumed obviously due to it being a listed feature at my local gameshop, but also since they've done so much to claim it being the spiritual heir to Baldurs Gate 2.
Well that game had mp and I greatly enjoyed playing that with friends, so thats just another area this game fails in where it shouldn't.

now wait a minute.
I thought it wasn't going to have multiplayer?
EDIT: Nevermind
1 stripe purple belt in JiuJitsu (good grief this takes FOREVER hahah)
I thought there was some new development that completely flew under my radar.
I was pretty pissed back when they announced it.
I had a lot of fun making Persistent Worlds and stuff for NWN.
But, I figured maybe there will be some good fan made modules for single player. There was for NWN for sure.
Hopefully, they will add multiplayer in a sequel or something (and hoping the first one sells well).
I agree with Epsilon though that it should have had it from the beginning.

well they said It will be a FEATURE ON XBOX360 , because if a game has Xlive support m$ will also give you support HOW TO make this game smoother on XBOX .... SEE Ghostbusters PC vs Xbox360 and tell me whats missing hmmm

Rely on fans for content? What the fuck? Now if the game came with no campaign you would have a point, but considering it has reportedly 50 hours of gameplay then you don't.
Fan made shit is a bonus, for any game. And considering 99% of it sucks, it's a small one at best. Was NWN bad development for having a tookit? Fallout 3? Every other game that has some sort of user generated material? No.

Bad development.. sheesh.
I'm sorry I didn't express myself clear enough, what I meant to say was, "rely on fans for good content" I don't play a game simply to watch the hours waste away, but to have fun doing that.
Whats been revealed about the story so far screams "Witcher ripoff" to me.
There'll be a toolkit for DA, not sure how widely available though. Adam Miller (an author of some of the most critically acclaimed mods for NWN and NWN2) already recieved it and works on some stuff for Dragon Age and i'm sure there are others too.
Anyways, the game is centered around single player campaign, and i believe this to be a good choice. What matters is single player campaign and its quality. Multiplay in BG2 was just an afterthought anyway, and something like that can be added in a patch or addon.
All I am hoping for, is that this game won't have the same BULLSHIT like other games that look similar. You know....this kind of bullshit:
-Start out and get badass
-Find someone to accompany you along your journey
-Find some AWESOME loot
-Give some of the loot to the person accompaning you
-Get to a certain point in the game (without any heads up) and learn that the character has to depart from your group, and POSSIBLY return later in the game
-Character leaves your group with all of his/her badass loot/skills that you've given/trained them on

Less than a year earlier, the only way Duncan would have seen the
inside of a palace would have been at the sword- point of a prison
guard. Perhaps not even then. In Orlais, lowly street thieves didn’t
receive the benefit of a judgment handed down personally by the
local lord.
This is the kind of writing you can expect in the game as well.

Wow. That was AMAZING. I hope the following paragraphs are just as fantastic!

I know, I had feared it would be generic, but that man just surprises you with awesome writing like this.
Btw, does anyone know what the actual story is about in DA?
I haven't really kept tabs on the game lately, but I'm hoping it ends up being just as good as The Witcher!
Here is a plot summary:
Quote:
Babble, Babble, Bitch, Bitch
Rebel, Rebel, Party, Party
Sex, sex, sex, don't forget the violence
Blah, blah, blah
Got your lovey-dovey sad and lonely
Stick your stupid slogan in
Everybody sing along
Are you motherfuckers ready for the new shit?
Stand up and admit it, tomorrow's never coming
This is the new shit
Stand up and admit it
Do we need it? NO!
Do we want it? YEAH!
This is the new shit
Stand up and admit it
Can't really blame a game featuring a war for having battles, can we? Or perhaps some of You can, since You brag about it on and on.

Basicly, there's a war with a returning blight, and the people aren't really ready for it. Grey wardens, who are tasked with guarding the blight, need to unite a front for this war and you're one of them. Expect some politics and itrigues even, based on other trailers too.
well, many here seem to dislike this game after seein a couple of vids with so excessive blood and sex. Don't know how that can be a gamebreaking experience to be honest
