What a shit company, I can't believe what they have done with Splinter Cell. I mean seriously.
It's one thing to take a different approach, but taking a fucking stealth game and turning it into a third person shooter with autoheadshot mode is just beyond ridiculous.

I mean FUCK. You know something's wrong when you see Fisher with shotguns, assault rifles and fucking desert eagles in his hand.
This Max Beland guy,he's so fucking full of himself. He shit all over previous fans faces and telling that HE didn't like previous Splinter Cells so he's changing it. WHO THE FUCK EMPLOYED THIS GUY. We don't want Fisher to be a badass, we want him to be FUCKING HIMSELF. He might as well call him John "Fisher" Rambo now. Fucking hell.
And now the fucking Assassin's Creeds 2 PC version gets delayed to 2010, I hope it gets pirated to hell and oblivion. It would be fair if they announced it from the beginning that it would be delayed (yes, it would be annoying as hell, but...), but no, they actually said countless times that PC version will get released at the same time as console counterparts. FUCKING HELL, even their official FAQ states so, and many posts by Ubi workers.
I'm fucking tired of being treated as a 10th class citizen, I bought all Splinter Cells (yes, even DA, and I actually kind of liked it) but this is the first one I won't buy. Fuck it to hell, fuck it to oblivion, FUCK IT TO DAMNED NATION OF MANKIND.

And for those who will be saying "omgz dudz get a life lollerskates", what the fuck are you doing on this forum anyway? Splinter Cell is (wait, WAS) my favorite franchise of all time, but now it's utter shite.
OH , and I forgot to mention the abomination that the newest Prince of Persia was...

Yeah it's a bit sad, but that's the games industry for ya these days, it's not like it wasn't completely unexpected.
BUT.
If Square Enix tries to pull something similar with the greatest game character of all time - Garrett - in Thief 4, I'll suicide bomb their HQ. Or well, I'll trick sabin to do that, but it'll be the same outcome.

if it makes you feel any better i pirated the original splinter cell, bought the second one, then returned it and got my money back (but kept copies of the disks), and thought the following games looked so sucktastic i never bothered with them....
to be honest, im more concerned about the new max payne game  sigh... it just doesnt pay to be a fan of any franchise i guess. u always get fucked over in the end...

I feel your pain, Fallout was my favorite franchise of all time and then Bethesda ruined it.
It's a common trend in the gaming industry, lowest common denominator and all that, and it is very low at the console scene.
I'm not saying consoles ruins it for the rest of us, as you can make good games there, I'm saying most of the people with consoles are idiots and they're the largest target group for publishers.

It's not about being elitist, bud, it's about being sick of hideously "dumbed down" games - games that only cater to the "Insta-action! Gimme guns nao!!" mentality that is prevalent these days. A mentality, I'm sad to say, that seems to have come from the advent of consoles powerful enough to play PC titles.
..... however!
I'm pretty fucking fed up with PC gaming these days. It's nothing but a ridiculous mess, with buggy and broken games, delays coming out the arse, driver issues, patch issues, compatibility issues, resolution issues, issues issues. Everything. It's become more of a chore than enjoyment
God I miss my 360 so fucking much!

It's not the consoles themselves (although the stupid controller and very little memory has limited design in a lot of games), it's the people themselves (basically as Epsilon said). I think the consoles getting more and more popular, more and more idiots started playing. Perhaps it's the new generation of kids that idiots, who knows, but it's the people not the consoles themselves (the machines).

One could also argue that "most" PC gamers are the idiots here as they are the ones who have to worry about drivers, updates, performance... and as a plus gaming pc's usually come with a premium price tag.

I don't see your point. When these "people who had nothing to do with developing the game" go out and shell tons of cash, and make the game profitable, signaling the developers to dumb it down even more for even a larger audience, who should we blame? |

Using the qualifier 'most' (or even 'some') in a sentence which insults a group is just using the cya principle.

Replace 'people with consoles' with any other group of people in terms of race, ethnicity, nationality, etc and see if it comes off as anything but insulting to the whole group. I wonder what the people in the consoles sub-forum think of that statement by a mod no less.
