http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/grins-final-fantasy-spin-off-still-in-development
Final Fantasy Fortress, the game that was the main reason Grin went bankrupt, is still in development by some other team.
Also Grin had started working on Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 for Capcom before they were shut down.
And then like you peoples were all like, "YOU IS TROLLIN!" and I was like "I AM NOT TROLLING!! I AM guess_who_kthxbai YOU SEE! Mm!"

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/ex-grin-devs-open-new-studio
| Quote: | The creators of Bionic Commando Rearmed, Wanted and Terminator: Salvation have opened a new studio and started work on a game it reckons will blow gamers' socks off.
The ex-GRIN developers have named their new studio Whiteout, set up shop in Sweden, and turned their attention towards "digital markets".
They're building their game using Crysis developer Crytek's engine Cry Engine 3, GamesIndustry.biz reports.
"We've got some very exciting concepts under development," said co-founder Joel Fagerlund.
"We are currently working on a bigger project in Cry Engine 3, and thanks to the excellent technology and support from Crytek, we have been able to carefully handcraft a playable prototype that will knock your socks off."
"At GRIN, we saw the community's extraordinary response to Bionic Commando: Rearmed," added Fagerlund.
"Couple that with the fact that new releases such as Limbo and Joe Danger have been so well received, we know that the digital marketplace is vibrant and thriving." |

Wait, they're going to make a title on CE3 that is a digital download? Whoa, that I'd like to see!

Probably a combination of Crytek wanting to show their engine as being able to carry small, "casual" if you will, projects (in addition to high-end).

I suppose if it can be done for Frostbite and UE3, I guess it's not that hard a stretch to imagine CE3 as well.

Maybe to you not, but for corporate retard suits, you'd be surprised.
Why do you think there were no major CryEngine 2 games? Because it was seen in the eyes of the world [of those that matter = corporate retards] as a high-end, 20fps on 2000$, PC engine.

Hell, if they can make it run on consoles, sure means it's very scalable.

http://www.vg247.com/2011/05/28/grin-founders-partially-blame-square-enix-for-the-studios-demise
| Quote: |
Speaking in an interview with Aftonbladet, Ulf and Bo Andersson said Square not only made ridiculous demands of the firm, but it also reneged on $20 million contract for the firm’s Final Fantasy spin-off game, codenamed Fortress. Square also insisted, according to the Anderssons, that the firm fax it the game’s code and music files.
“It is as silly as it sounds,” said Bo Andersson. “It is an impossible requirement, you can not send ASCII or binary codes on the fax. It is backward. Really retarded. It was almost a criminal activity.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, to test the waters at Square a bit, and to see if it was even paying attention, GRIN sent it some concept art from taken straight from Final Fantasy XII .
The Anderssons were told: “It does not look like Final Fantasy.”
SE really are failing HARD as a company lately.
Why the face? He's absolutely, utterly, correct. FFXIII (and the instafailedsobadtheymadeitF2P Final Fantasy XIV) are atrocious games, which neither look nor feel like Final Fantasy. Even XII was a steaming, festering, pile of shite.
Oh, I have absolutely no opinion on the quality of the recent FF games as I haven't played them.
But it's the hump and the face felt appropriate to accompany his statement
GRIN was hardly high profile which is why they weren't taken seriously by its own publisher.
