I just bought a new fine Plextor PX-712A today which really comes with some fine status and statistics, I mean; 8 MB / 100 ms (CD) / 150 ms (DVD) / 48x (CD) / 16x (DVD) (R) / 48x (CD) / 8x (DVD-R) / 12x (DVD+R) (W) / 24x (CD) / 4x;..
Surely its not a new burner but sounds pretty up to date and Plextor has always been known for its QUALITY!
Somebody who has it and can come with some comments about it?
I brought it right before NEC and Pioneer released under 100$ top of the line 16x dvdr and dl so that was annoying... asides from that tho, it's a great drive.
with what sata controllers does this drive work? Because older sata controllers are only for hd's, there are only a few sata cd drives so far wich only work with the 865/875. I think the new 915/925 does support cd/dvd drives with sata interface.
