The game does seem harder on the PC version compared to the 360 one... I get far more headshots on the PC so I should have had it easier... But it felt like everything was a little harder to be honest. I think either they upped the damage a bit on all difficulties or they raised the HP of everything. I don't think I'm imagining things...
Still, medium is the best regardless.
Thing is, the game automatically gets harder if you perform well. Die excessively, and the game lowers the difficulty. Thus, continous headshots and such will result in increased difficulty. This was implemented in the console versions, too, but obviously it gets more apparent with mouse/keyboard control, with headshots being easier to pull off.

Wow, didn't know that at all. Then it makes perfect sense that I had a hellish time surviving and having enough ammo from the middle part and onwards on the PC version, while on the 360 version, I had excess ammo all the time...
Does this mean that glottis sucks at RE5 cause he said a while back that he had no issues with gun ammo it was everywhere
imo makes ya wonder how a guy like chris redfield , a guy who was involved in like 4 or more RE games, runs around in an african town armed only with a pistol and the ammo that is in it. No extra clips ?
Does anybody else have a problem with the cut scenes ? I can hear them, see the dialog but there is just a blank screen. I'm running Vista SP2, ATI 4870 (9.9's) and running the game in DX10.

Dude never learns ...
It would probably be quite hard hiding a large stash of ammunition.

What about RE4 wacko who randomly appears all over the game?
Runs great on my 8800GT, feels a bit too corridor and linear though, graphics are amazing
but if I upgrade my pistol will I be able to make their heads explode with one shot? because when you shoot a guy in the face and he just scratches it and comes running at you is pretty weird

So, is anyone else having these random, occasional freezes?
I was until I updated my videocard's drivers. If you haven't already try it.
I did, and for a time it seemed the problem had been solved. But I just got another freeze + performance drop. I can't say whether the drivers update reduced the freezes' frequency or not, since it was quite variable before it.
Got to the last chapter. Still great, but tends to feel more like Doom than Resident Evil at this point.
Completed it, good game as such but far more of a action title than a horror one, was pretty fun though, Sheva could have been a bit smarter (For example with item gathering priorities and which weapon to use, she really loves that stunstick by the way.) though it worked out OK in the end, really liked the unlockable '500 magnum once acquired, although it's probably not needed for later playtroughs with all the other guns and unlocks available as it's pretty slow in terms of firing rate.
(Though it kills nearly anything with a single shot once upgraded due to it's damage rating of 5000, of course outside of special enemies and bosses that need to be killed in a certain way.)
Going trough the mercenary mode now and it's pretty tough even with the no-mercy thing enabled (More enemies thus higher combos and better score, if you survive.) and the low quality starting equipment.
Not much else to say about it I guess, will be a challenge to unlock all bonuses and extras.
(Finding emblems and getting enough points that sort of thing.)
I think the No Mercy mode ups the score needed for each rank. I just got 37k in the first scenario (The Public Assembly), and got only a C. In Solo mode, as far as I know, 40k is enough for an A, so something doesn't click. Also, in Solo, I can't score higher than 14k.
Cheathappens has a trainer to unlock figures, files and cutscenes, they seem to be in a bit of a conflict with H4x0r or how it was spellt as he rips the trainer and re-releases them or that's what they say anyhow, regardless such a ripped trainer will probably be available soon if you really want to see the part of the unlocks.
Thanks for coming back with an intelligent answer, I will check it out
