You really never should complain about what might be issues with your pirated software on the official forums, especially several days before the game is supposed to be available.
(Happens every single time though, but the current gameplay bugs are mostly eliminated from what I know, that level load error where you enter a "void" late in the game might still happen but everything else is supposedly solved from gliding to grappling to the last boss being made immortal.)

Anyone know what securom is supposed to be shipping with batman? not a fucking word on it anywhere. The thread on eidos forum had mixed information about it having install limits, then someone from the staff said no install limits.

As far as I've understood it.

Online digital download editions (Steam, Gamersgate and so on.) will most likely use SecuROM online verification (Unsure about install limits, Gamersgate doesn't have any and will fix it if you run out of activations for example, unsure about Steam, Impulse might use their own DRM system as seen with Red Faction.)

Boxed copies have secuROM as well (So probably also triggers, though know they're revealed.) but only a disc check from what I've read.

Some more info about it was posted earlier but the above should be more or less correct.
(Some publishers might use different methods though such as Star-Force in eastern-europe countries and so on.)

Found it, so yeah it should only be a disc check plus the LIVE key.

Leaked version is from Fileplanet's Direct2Drive system, somehow it got downloaded and cracked (Why did they even have a beta version or what is is, some evaluation perhaps?) and then distributed via that release but as it's a digital download edition it also used SecuROM product activation (Seems that's what it's called.) whereas the retail disc version will be DRM free but still has SecuROM disc protection on it.
(Later in that thread he explains it as DRM for digital rights management and thus he considers the retail disc copies to be DRM free albeit they still install SecuROM and uses that protecton, depends on how you see it, to me it still installs files and drivers - SecuROM in this case - but it doesn't manage any digital license information either but still has a form of copy protection or how to best explain it.)

Nah I don't need another pad : )

In fact the xbox360 controller emulator works very well, its just that I had extracted the files in the wrong folder : they need to be extracted in the Binaries folder and not at the root !

(Seems obvious but I had forgotten that they had to be located in the folder of the launcher executable)

Lets try that Batman now !

I bought it new, first store I stumbled into looking for one. Think I payed 25 Euro's for a wired one. Best computer related expenditure in years. Awesome for racing games as well. I think I would have hated GRID if I had played it with my keyboard.

The readme of the 2nd crack fix says to make backups of your saved games and shit cause of known issues.

Did anyone encounter these known issues ?

Just wondering so that I don't restart the game and play through only to run into this shit again.

i followed the advice of that crack and backed up my savegame when I entered the batcave the second time, but it worked out fine.
And backing up your savegame isnt much work anyway, just leave the folder open, alt-tab out of the game and copypaste that folder, if you want to.

Ok now I can post a full how-to for those who want to play BAA with a non-x360 controller.

. Download Xbox360 controller emulator « Vibmod » (guess it's a fork).
. Extract the content of the archive to your « Binaries » game subfolder.
. Tweak the « x360ce.ini » file to get the proper buttons mapping.

The last part can actually be tricky and needs a few trial & errors (this can be helpful in Windows configuration panel). I have uploaded my config file in case you have the same controller as me (or similar).

I had a hard time getting the right stick Y analog to work and finally managed by setting it to « s-1» (ie. Right Analog Y=s-1), but your mileage may vary from a model to another.

It works 100%. Maybe I should post that to their forums as a lot of people couldn't get it to work with BAA. Or you're free to c/c it since I dont particularly want to register there.

Just to be clear: in order to finish the game with the latest patch, you need to start the game over again? And has anyone still had the known problems, such as grapple fails and invisible plants? If not, I'm willing to start over again. If problems persist, I'll just wait for a RLD version...

And could someone tell me the exact name of the latest patch? There's so many of 'em floating around right now, I want to be sure I have the right one.

With the latest loader/crack I managed to play it all the way through without any problems. Why is it torture if the game works fine, even if Physx isn't there..

Well I didn't even bother downloading this until the latest loader/crack came out and I managed to play it all the way through without any problems. Why is it torture if the game works fine, even if Physx isn't there..

damn your sentence made like so no sense ,

so you DID NOT bother to download until you were able to PLAY IT THROUGH ?

how the hell does that work ... in other words, don't try to sugarcoat your greedyness lulz. You downloaded it the second it was available.

all this reminds me of people downloading CAM and TS releases of movies , because "they just couldn't wait" lol.

Well, your analogy is invalid (though your point is). With a proper cam/TS you can still watch the movie from start to finish, while the game, prior to the latest crack, could not be finished. Smile
