Probably the same people that care about shite like Patapon; useless nerdy DICKS!

... *ahem*

Just messing Very Happy I honestly don't know mate, probably those that enjoy racing games yet were unfortunately cursed with a lack of decent PC or "next gen111!!!" gaming console. Still, it at least fills the void until GT-PSP and/or Ridge Racer 3* comes out.

*Not a real game, but if Namco actually had any fucking braincells they'd get on a third instalment RIGHT NOW!

if namco had any fucking braincells they'd also make new ridge racer games that are actually different from one another Laughing

btw, does anyone know if the psp dirt2 version is the usual castrated version of its bigger brother or a different game altogether?

Nah, different = formula breaking. RR was always awesome because it was so utterly unpretentious; it was perfect because all you do, all you ever have to do, is get in a car and thrash to the end of a circuit faster than everyone else, while drifting round corners at speeds Colin Mcrae and those fucking dipshits in the Fast and Furious movies could only dream of.

Add more banging music tracks, add more race circuits, give it a shiny new glossy paintjob -- sale.

that's not what i meant. ridge racer formula isn't something the devs should mess with, but i'm talking about little modifications and content (cars, tracks, special stuff)...rr1+2 on the psp are more or less identical games, same shit with 6+7 on the x360/ps3.

Ahh, ok gotcha Smile

@Clcancellation

No, official 5.50 still hasn't been cracked and turned into a CFW.

You seriously need to stop reading, because you're too gullible and you read too much into every piece of info you find.

No, there isn't a way of loading these gameS -- there was a simple hex hack for the EUR version of Soul Calibur, which didn't require 5.50. It required 5.00. The reason it wouldn't boot initially was because of a new encryption system used by Sony. The JAP/NTSC versions require 5.50.

Mate, I'm being serious here; stop reading online. Every time you read the smallest piece of information, you immediately run back here and spread it as gospel truth -- when it is, more often than not, just a simple rumour or hack that applies to a single game.

from PSP hacks forums, from one of the admins:
Quote:
if the games NEED 5.55 it WILL NOT WORK, on ANY FW under 5.55 ,(some game will, if there a PATCH)

THERE WILL NOT BE A CFW for 5.55
OFW 6.00 should be out soon
so
a CFW of 6.00 may come

till then
if you can use Pandora
update to 5.55
play the game
Pandora back when done
-locked-

iirc there is a firmware 5.5 from GEN.

Fw 6.00 was decrypted according to pspupdates. Maybe well see a 6.00 GEN Fw in the next days.
It seems like dark_alex has retired from the psp scene

5.50 GEN and MHU are built from 5.02, not 5.50 - else 5.50 games would work Wink
