Absolutely 100% agreed. Sure it would be nice to play as the Borg, but meh - it's the SW:G equivalent of Jedi. Overpowered and offered to everyone, it's the newbie choice.
I'm with you matey; leave Borg encounters to high-level/endgame play, or GM-controlled attacks and Live Events.

well, the whole point of time travel is to change things
it appears startrek brand of time travel is fairly tolerant of alterations though so maybe you could move back and forth, and there wouldn't be anything important in the past that you might break
like kill kirk's father *cough*
but that would make the whole thing quite pointless
like how would it be different from a holodeck visit?

well there are two people that get priority, sabin and spykes are first come first served right now, depending which one of them does not get a closed beta account..mayben either wants to play it anyhow, then again I may not even get one myself lol.. Luck of the draw i guess.

If you create a bald character who acts like Picard, then sure. They won't allow you to name him Picard though (or anything similar).

Dude, this game is the motherload of grinding..
Think EverQuest 9.5.
Really disappointing, don't care what they do to my beta account, but seriously.. The level grind from lvl 10-11 is ludicrous.
