you can start it with thier crack. as the game exe is still protected by xlive.

What happens if you run the launcher EXE directly? "S8Game-F-prot.exe"
(Similar to GTA IV, one game EXE and then this EXE to launch it and initialize LIVE and such functionality, might have extra protection as well like SecuROM with copy protection triggers in GTA IV.)
EDIT: As for XLive you can use a offline profile or your existing profile in offline mode, both works outside of multiplayer on official LIVE servers.
(Plus stat tracking and ranking, also need to be logged in for that to work.)

starting the original file works here. looks like there is no authentication or cd check. but you still cant sign in to a online profile without a valid key. :/

So whats the deal with section8, and whats this gibberish about our club keys not working etc,, is it just with this release etc right now? All other games with the key are working still..
They said that the new G4WL stuff will be inplace for future titles, regarding protection and all the other crap they update. So section 8 must of been built on this premesis.. And you can surely then expect anything else thats been in the making of late due out soon and used G4WL to be also..
It wll be interesting to see if its more MS side or File side on the games that will be the issue with this new key problem.. regarding our free keys weve been using of late..

The beta was incredibly fun ... but, as I said before, it relies on ADEPT team-mates. Ones that don't just play "for frags!!11" as it requires teamwork to capture the objectives.

wasnt that the same sort of need for quake wars was it? think it was that game, had an extended name, it slips my mind now.. Anyway same thing, teamwork to capture and hold locations == failboat if playing with half wittssssss...

same as beta or some changes?
how it the hit box detection? still crappy?

Installed the game on my WinXP Pro OS. Won't start except for a quick black box like you said and an error message from MS wanting me to report the error.
Loaded up my Vista 64 bit OS on the other drive and it works fine even when installed on XP.
Pretty lame.

I don't know how that compares to beta, but I played the demo and everything felt cheap and crappy.

Anyone wanna comment on whether this would be worth getting for just 2 people to play over LAN, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it has bots for multi. That is if MP works fine without a gfwl key. Not interested in playing online.

I am getting the error windows live has failed to initialize and then it closes the game. Anyone else have this problem?

Finally downloaded, now let's see what all the fuss and hassle is about. I'll let you guys know if I get any of my four, different, G4WL keys to work - and whether I have install issues.
