|
 |
I often download full BluRay releases from usenet for transcoding, but lately I came across several releases that were password protected with no info where to get the password from, most recently the Hot Fuzz release "bd-hf".
Anyone know a good source for passwords for such releases?

Try this...
Open Notepad
Type "password" (without the quotes)
Press TAB
Copy the whole thing into the password entry box
A lot of BD releases have this protection

45 GBs? O.o
wonder how much difference you'll find between that and the 12686kbps CtrlHD release ...
asus z170-A || core i5-6600K || geforce gtx 970 4gb || 16gb ddr4 ram || win10 || 1080p led samsung 27"

None. Seriously, they compress these 1080p with higher h264 levels which require a lot more power to decode, but are completely (or almost) transparent to the source.

Well, these uploads are probably from users of some forum and would like to keep the releases private. Cirithungol probably knows what that community uses for a password.

I have to ask why? If you're re-converting it anyways, do you expect to do a better job? and if you care that much, why not just buy the BR disc instead?

The HDB (aka Esir, CtrlHD, Don, etc) releases are never locked for size, so check them out too. But encoding is always fun. Make sure you encode in L5.1 and high profile, taking advantage if its features (like CABAC, etc).
