Fuck that. I would never let abgx autofix the game so early, they often mess it up. Blindly trusting abgx is a no no.

So I wanted to play some GH5 today and what did I have to notice? My GH3 guitar is like totally not working any more.
Opened it up, cleaned it and still 2nd and 4th fret button not working at all.
So I'll have to get myself a new one.
Is there a guitar controller out there that is completly compatible with the GH series and the RB series?
(same goes for drums, if I ever find myself with enough money and space to buy a set)

mini review (now about 3/4 through the game):
if you dind't like GHWT, you're gonna hate GH5 right down to the bone
the only improvement are the gfx (well to be true it's only a shitload of "next gen" post processing), plus they put in whole bands like muse and garbage, but the stages are kinda small and low budget, no epic shit like GHWT)
the track list is downright abysmal, maybe 5-10 good songs. i'm not talking about music taste here, but about how fun to play they are. at least you can play 1-2 DLC tracks per venue to cough up enough stars to advance, but i think that says enough about how bad the new stuff really is.
gameplay innovations: an extra multiplicator based on the performance of the whole band and you can now score 8 stars per song (regular 5 + 3 on a certain instrument if certain conditions are met). maybe that's the devs way to make it easier/faster/more economic to skip the shitty stuff.
oh and the difficulty has gone way waaaaaaaaaaaay down. always played on medium, now we're 5-starring one song after another on hard, sometimes even expert. drunk. and stoned. maybe that's why it's called GH 5: 5 stars on everything, no matter how much you've blown your brains out.
verdict: honestly, me + 3 friends are only putting up with this shit because of
1. the fabulous new lars umlaut model,
2. a crate of beer that was "in they way" in my small kitchen,
3. in the hopes that there'll be some surprise hits or an epic song that comes close to TTFATF at the end. that's it. and if there isn't one, the disc has something worse coming its way than spiderman's ninja blade verb

I'll agree with some of that. I've not tried drumming yet but the songs on guitar aren't all that exciting to play.
The difficulty is way down and more inline with Rockband. I play on Hard and normally hit around 80% on GHWT. With GH5 I'm getting around the 98% - 99% on every song.
The extra goals add a new dimension. Some of them are like "use whammy bar for 30 seconds on long notes".

mine is starting to do the same thing -- it seems to be the contacts between the neck and the body :/

Yep, all of them I believe. I've tried drums and guitar, not sure about the mic put I'd presume so.
The only thing to note about the RB drum kit with GH games is that when you want to activate "Star" power, you have to hit the two middle pads (yellow and blue) at the same time.
