I have Nvidia card so I don't have a reason to rage, I just find it funny that you love (read: you're a fanboy) of Nvidia so much. |
Well it's typical to call others names and say assumptions around here, I guess you are just following the trend.
I had 4 ATI cards over many years and 3 Nvidia ones. When I buy a new card I always evaluate situation and pick the best choice. When I was getting my last Nvidia which is GTX260 I also looked at ATI alternatives. I spent weeks reading reviews, comments, etc. In the end I have chosen GTX260 for Physx, CUDA and the fact that I could get it cheaper in my country at the time of purchase.
I also have PS2 slim, Xbox1, Xbox 360 and planning on buying PS3 slim.
So go on, keep calling me a fanboy, a troll or whatever. You won't change a thing. I know that I'm an objective person who just likes to discuss and argue.

This is the dumbest thing you said, and that's saying a lot.
Anyway, I run away with the hate, Mr. Objective
PS Just to be sure, do you really believe there are objective PEOPLE? I'm not sure if anything is objective at all (maybe mathematics...) |

Thanks. But as someone who is a multiplatform gamer for many years I believe that I can see gaming from more neutral perspective than people who are just PC only gamers.

Ok, i decided to try the demo one more time, this time with physx enabled on high with everything else maxed (4870 + e8600 at 4.3ghz). At the starting scene i had slow-down gameplay (playable but slow). After playing a bit more everything started to normalize. Further on in the game i had small slow-downs near smoke and really small ones when looking at the cloths hanging off the ceiling. At the destructible toilet tiles, near shit paper and particles i had no problems. Overall the game was really playable and the slow-downs that were occurring from time to time didn't distract me from the main gameplay.
The physx integration in the game is not a full one (just randomly placed efects here and there) . For instance the toilet tiles in prison cells can't be destroyed. Only the ones around the electric chair. As for the hanging rags - i tried hitting them with the batarang but no luck (it just passed through them causing no noticeable 'physical' reaction). Smoke is well done but nothing unseen (i noticed something like a 'bug' - from one angle, walking toward the smoke i had a little frame hit, but going from a different angle, again towards the smoke, i had no frame hit at all). Another thing that made me an impression is that glass is unbreakable. Windows can't be broken neither can bricks on walls (but these are just 2d textures and i understand that). As a conclusion - physx is just four extra graphical effects in the game (particles, smoke, cloth and destr. tiles, maybe in the full game we may some water simulation). It's good to have them but gameplay doesn't suffer at all if turned off and as a matter of fact neither does the atmosphere in the game. I actually experienced the same thing when playing the demo numerous times with physx on or off.

Smoke is good for one thing; to catch the beams from light sources. Does it do that?

I saw him doing red faction, infamous and prototype. GOD, he just doesn't think sometimes... And in Batman he's mostly just mashing the buttons and complaining "OMGZ TEH COMBOS DONT WORK", he doesn't even consider timing and precision, he just mashes buttons like a moron.

It appears that Batman: Arkham Asylum has set a world record as the highest rated game with a average score of 91.67%
(Or something like that, of course reviews and even previews can be biased at times.)
