you obviously wont need the expansion for 1-60 content, it will be included in a patch most likely. you'll still get the new azeroth.

what if they use their phasing stuff from wotlk ? i.e. zone can be different for anyone (icecrown) ?

Wow has been turned to shit ever since the old devs left for another project and new devs arived.
The new devs belive that every one, regardless of skill/time invested should be able to clear all content.
Because of this they have made the game have just 4 classes (mele, healing, tank, range)
The current raiding requires no skill and regardless of how bad you are you still get to clear everething, and if you dont then the game helps you further by adding bonuses such as a damage/healing increased aura.
If a boss doesnt get killed in 2 weeks after released then he gets nerfed.
if less then 50% of people dont kill it after nerf he gets nerfed again.
And then he gets nerfed even more just to be on the safe side.
Every one is runing around in almost idenctical gear.
High quality items are rewarded from outdated content (5 man dungeons are giving people 25 man raid quality gear)
So yeah all in all wow is dead, there is nothing competitive or chalanging about it anymore.
Id rather burn myself then buy a new expansion

you cant do anything.. this is cracked alpha sandbox.. go to mmo-champion.com and you can watch the screenshots.. only thing you would be able to do.. would be run around empty game world..
for me wow was shit when they put in battlegrounds, then even more shit when they made battlegrounds cross realm.
it was nice fighting against people on the same server as me i couldnt give a crap about people on other servers the same as playing with them in the cross server dungeons.
it does nothing to build a strong community on a server it just makes the people you meet even more random and less importaint
Playing with a guild full of friends u know for the past XX amount of years is what matters in these games. No matter how shit the game itself will become, playing together with those friends is the meaning of mmorpg's

Rehashed dungeons, and possibly Tier gear (again)....I think i will finally pass on a world of warcraft expansion...
the only dungeon they've reused so far is naxxramas and that's because NOBODY got to see it at 60, it's a nice piece of work and it would suck if nobody could explore it because of some elitist fucking idiots. Onyxia is soon to be remade but purely for the anniversary of wow and it's coming in a free content patch and not the expansion - it's better than getting fuck all like any other mmo out there. Cata expansion is going back to Azeroth (which almost all enjoy more than the new islands in the new expansions) and changing it all around, totally changing how the world is which also means they will bring in new quests for 1-60, 80-85 and other things lore related - it's not just HERE HAVE THE SAME OLD WORLD WITH A NEW TEXTURE TO MAKE IT LOOK DESTROYED, they are actually rebuilding all of it and adding 7 new zones (ie the same amount wotlk, tbc added) along with new races, dungeons, raids, gear, talent systems, rated bgs, new arenas, new bgs and so much other bullshit i just cant be bothered to list it all

in the end if you arent anti wow like most of this community then im fairly sure its something you can look forward to. I know myself i'm going to enjoy it when it's out and i've been enjoying all the content i've had so far.
nobody?! ive been in a top10 worldwide guild for 3 years+ since launch, quitted 2 years ago, as some ex-wow players have already said in this thread, quitting was the best i could ever do. Back to your statement, naxxramas WAS seen at 60 by more then you think, of course our guild cleaned it in a record time (yeah, the elitist fucking idiots as you might say) BUT, other more casual guilds on our server got a shot at it too, so IDK wtf your talking about, unless youre one of those punk that played 5 hours a week to pvp or envy top guilds toons gear.

The important ones didn't leave Blizz. And yes, they're developing Blizz's new MMO. Which will be fun until the first expansion comes out and turning to shit then, again

considering that ppl are buying characters not accounts.. and that you can transfer characters off account for ages now, i doubt anyone was even using your account
its not like you would lvl new char, if it had so many owners , and probably gazilions of chars on it if they were left there
