Ah Christ, the bumping of a year old topic made me think they announced a new game. ):

To the above user asking what the unofficial patch does here's the changelog, it's pretty big.

It's pretty basic, partially mentioned towards the bottom of the changelog "spoiler" I posted, game wasn't really meant to have multiplayer.
(Early source engine version so some stuff are pretty basic or changed entirely like the game having it's own script system based on Python.)

Well, after bumping the thread, almost 5 years have past-finished the game 7-8 times, first walkthrough with Malkavian and omg...these dialogue lines are just amazing.I recommend to everyone the Malkavian clan.
Don't forget to change the resolution to 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 with ResPatch and enable 16X anisotropic and 16XQ AA with supersampling and negative lod bias to clamp(nvidia users).

Correct me if I'm wrong but, the unoffical patch also has it's own built in No-CD right?

It doesn't touch the EXE file in any way from what I know but now that you mention it I'm also fairly certain a recent changelog entry was to remove the protection or rather the disc check it used so it might have done a quick alteration just for that so yeah it shouldn't use any protection anymore after applying the patch.

Nope, it still checks for CD.

However, crack for v1.2 contained two files (vampire.exe in root and vampire.dll in some subfolder). Unofficial patch actualy uses that dll for some reason (might be those memory fixes or something), so now you just need vampire.exe from v1.2 to remove the CD check.

You are right, I checked it a bit and that change is for the unofficial patch for Arcanum. Smile
(That .dll might be for one of the little program hacks like making 64-bit and 3gb+ configurations not forcing the game into low quality mode or something like that.)

Keep an eye on this wip mod, the Bloodlines Revival mod, a conversion of the old Vampires: The Masquerade Bloodlines game into the latest Source engine. Smile

Yeah, one of the best pieces of RPG goodness ever. Perfect world of darkness atmosphere. Unsettling, dark, provoking. Just PERFECT.

Sadly, it's so badly coded that it hurts. One of the few games You couldn't actually finish without using the dev console. Even after a patch, some people still had to do it.

But man, that game sucked me in... (pun intended)

I honestly couldn't agree more, guys. I play this game to completion at least twice a year, sometimes three. It's a great game, great in every way - hell even the bugs are part of the charm Very Happy Such a shame about Troika, they really did make a spectacular slice of awesomeness.

Redemption wasn't too bad either. I wish someone ported it to some modern engine. Sad

Aye, Redemption was great too... such a shame the best part of the game, the modern era, isn't until the final - very short - segment of the game.

I had my most recent bloodlines phase about 2 months ago or I would have reinstalled it again right now.
It'll be another 3 or 4 months before I feel the need to play bloodlines again I think.

bloodlines for me is still the only game i can put next to deus ex in it's genre of branching linear rpg
if you get over the goth and the stupid monster sequence near the end, it's a damn fine game
wish obsidian would pick it up for a sequel
