That is the correct way to set it,, not sure why it wouldnt be working for you, this is what I got in the settings.txt files and I get window mode.

Playing more and more i really enjoying it.. just takes alot of getting used to..
- I LOVE the Hierarchy thing in the game.. it can be a bit complicated to setup.. but once you have done it the way you want its REALLLLLLY good
- I really enjoy the way the faction thing works...
- The way the air part of the game works is really good aswell..
- Im still coming to terms with the research compared to HOI2
- The interface/map/photos have a VERY "Paradox bland" look about it.. which will be much improved with mods (GIP helped hoi2 soooooooo much)
- Some things with trade i can not understand.. (eg how do you "Give" someone resources ?? i wanna help my ally by giving them free stuff.. instead of trading for money)
- Can they give me free things ?? eg in HOI2 .. if i was germany and i needed oil.. then my allies with excess would for free (eg romania)

I think you have to setup supply routes, there is alot diff about it and AI plays a big part in what you can and can't do with choices/options etc etc.. Ive yet to dive deep into it, I am really holding out for the 1.2 patch..

How is the game now? any new released patches?
Is it still very "inaccurate" and bugged as people have been saying or has it been fixed?

its better now, but dependant on what country u take to start learning or playing with can hinder you.. If you want a more non worrying if things are against you code wise type play id wait for the coming patch 1.2

What is the best way to be to wardec a country?
I'm trying increase threat but i hope there's a faster way to do it.
Threat from luxemburg is getting higher but i'm not getting closer to be able to declare war.
I'm playing as germany and Japan has the highest threat to germany, but they are in my faction, that doesn't sound right.
Or i misunderstand that whole threat thing.

Only the commies can do this or you can edit a file to change this.

Anybody who could recommend me an amusing country to play? preferably something unknown. I was thinking of something south american and start some wars there etc.. But if you know of any other scenario which has turned out to be amusing, please post it.

More and more I read on paradox forums the more I do not play until the main patch for this lot of bugs the game has is cleared up.... There appears to be so many little things that can go against you when bothering to make an effort playing now its really worth just waiting for a patch..
I just dont like putting the effort now into playing (as I like to do it at the best I can) to find out something happened and swayed the tide when it should not of due to some stupid ass bug or bad variable setting..
To me this is not the sort of game where you can overlook such things, unlike your standard gaming types..

Yeah I'm the same. I'm dying to get in there and start playing but I'm going to be patient and wait for the official patch. It's interesting to see how much the community has discovered, and tried to fix regarding bugs and shortcomings in the official forums though. Well played to them.

Its good they do it of course it leads to lots of mods but Im not one for using piddly bits of changes when they really dont yet know the consequences to hoi3 it might cause...
They are all waiting to play it without hitches etc like us both wanting a good patch release, it just seems futile right now, not to mention I personally can not be sure what they are messing with, so that makes me hang back even more. |
