Oh, and another thing I really really love about it, is that it's not going to have any tethering in split screen... Which means that you can go as far away from your friend as you want. So even though you're playing split screen, it's not necessarily co-op. You can play by yourself while your friend decides to do some other stuff. I think that's really neat.

Yeah, I'm sure we've all been fooled by hype some time, but I think it's fairly certain this will be a fun and good game. Anything more though? We'll see. The split screen/co-op element does ensure it'll be good.

I really wonder why so many developers don't go the route of co-op... It's pretty much a win-win situation, you'd have to try very hard to fail with a co-op game on your hands. Especially if it's split-screen.

Agreed, good coop can save a otherwise bad game.

I'm hoping this is going to be decent too, though I liked the way it looked better before the overhaul it has some nice concepts.

Nice gameplay trailer, but I hate those fraps-alike numbers Laughing . By the way, it looks fun and frenetic, and with a little work on the animations side it will be perfect.

I'm actually considering buying it. I don't have a job right now but I'm for looking for a quick minimum wage job to fund my gaming needs. Crying or Very sad

Hopefully I'll score a job and this game won't tank hard. 4 player Co-op FTW.

Haha sabin, it seems we do have really different taste in games. Cool Face

It looks... OK? Nothing special IMO, and I sense a failure like Hellgate:London...

But I'll prolly check it out.

Urgh. Yeah, we really do it seems. Hellgate London is fucking spectacular! The only thing that killed that game was the hype-machine (Diablo 3 is the biggest joke in the industry. Fucking game has been hyped to levels BEYOND what Pete Molyneux could ever dream of ... and I fear it's going to be a boring, simplistic, run-of-the-mill hack'n'slash that pales in every way compared to greats like Titan Quest and Loki)

I've put more hours in HG:L than I have ever into the Diablo series.

It has the same bad or lack of damage depiction on npc's as your run of the mill mmo. No blood depicted on npc's, no bullet holes, no gore. The only thing that tells you that you hit something is their health bar declining.

The death animations are nonexistent as well - dead bodies just fall to the ground.

Sure thats how it is in reality as well, but in games we should have more exotic ways of utterly destroying people, as can be seen in the Quake, Doom, Crusader etc games. And recent ones like Wolfenstein, Fallout 3 and the up and coming Diablo III.

Something like that is a deal breaker for me in a game like this where I have to watch stuff dying 99% of the time. Then I want some bells and whistles.
This is 2009, not 2003.

I dont recall Gearbox making bad games. BIA series is awesome and polished. I think Borderlands will be fun and hopefully, it´ll different from conventional action FPS.

I'm sure they're still tweaking it, mate. I remember the E3-08 vids (pre-Celshaded graphics upgrade) and there was more physical reaction in attacks and damage then, so I'm sure it'll make a comeback on release.

Didn't think you would actually be bothered by something like this. Smile Thought you were mocking us, the graphic whores.

But also, it's an M rated game, so if there is no gore, why M? So surely there must be something (otherwise it would get a T rating, like the MoH series, which shows no damage also).

To judge a a semi-celshaded game for its lack of gore it´s just silly, blood and violence is certainly not what they are after.
