For gods sake boundle, just leave us alone.
I can't play this game. Like, I really have no idea at all what to do.

yep i know everything. but SKIDROW morons does not have released a proper version from gamersgate then. their are not able to release proper things. that is the retail sold into stores and that come out without addons anyway. so you have to apply the steam ripped files on that then |
wtf are you talking about boundle, Skidrow is an iso retail disc, well the one IVE downloaded saying skidrow is anyhow, and patched it with 1.1 gamersgate patch, (seeing as the patches are all the same regardless of what your told.) The game has no protection..
Ive now just installed the sprite packs, perfect works all well, so I have no idea what the fuck your talking about "steam ripped files" for as you dont need any. duh..

Since boundle is so used to talking about steam, boundle is now bound'led (durr hurr) to use the word steam. Now the word steam evolved into a context sensitive metaphor that stands for something that actually makes sense!
I think a mod should steam him again...

Back to the game, I like the 2D art, but the 3D sucks as much as Europa Universalis III's.
Why don't people just get that bad 3D < good 2D? The same happened with Supreme Ruler 2020: they ditched 2010's reasonable sprites and replaced them with horrible 3D models.

Do what I do, play it in window mode on 2nd screen then just enjoy doing other things on the other screen
I like slow paced doesnt bother me one little bit really.. I used to prefer them playing other people with play by mail games and so forth.. Be more patient

Wow. I'm glad I didn't buy this. Buggy and supremely awful performance wise (even with the patch and 'improved' script routines). Lots of things to enjoy, and coming from HOI2 I didn't find it all that different on the face of it (although why they couldn't make it less obtuse and more enjoyable to interact with, nnarrgh). But the performance is the killer. Just can't play it at all so I guess I wait for a patch to fix this before I even consider playing it, let alone buying it.

As usual though, minor nations are unplayable because the game doesn't skew their production values properly..
It's fun that most start with forces they can't produce.. that imho is nonsense.

Just two hours to go from 1936 to 1939? You know, you're supposed to do stuff in those 3 years. I played Germany and Japan in HoI2, and those years were all about building up a strong military. Japan had the war in China in the way, which made things somewhat slower.

I'm liking it so far.
It helps if you've played HOI2 as some of the concepts of the game wont be completely alien - I haven't bothered with the tutorial.
Performance is a bit of an issue and hopefully they'll be able to patch up a little bit. There's still a few bugs but again, in a game like this it's to be expected. Nothing too bad I don't think though. I wouldn't let it stop me playing anyway.
I have two game on the go - both from 1936, one as UK and the other as Germany. I'm up to late 1938 and so far so good. Some nice touches on both parts. I'm enjoying this so far.

You know, paradox has already acknowledged the speed problem and will try to fix it.
Tried learning the game with an easy nation. I chose the philipines, well, i was never attacked or anything, but due to the game speed i virtually had to play another game while i played HOI

doesn't seem to be a full patch just yet, just some beta hotfix.
Quote: | Here's an early release of the hotfix incase anyone want to test it before we package a new patch on it.
- Fixed a problem which made troopsneed become much too large.
- Made a few minor speed improvements.
- Game now defaults to lower multisampling to make performance better.
- Tweaked temperatures to feel a bit more natural. |
