I played for awhile without logging in to live.. I copied my saves over so I can play them logged in, anyway to trigger the achievements I've already done?

On PC you can just use the console to add them. The commands and codes should be on fallout wiki.

I can barely await it, too bad its going to be the last DLC.
Some more info I found, although its already a week old:
Quote: |
Mothership Zeta is full of the most high tech weaponry in the game.
It includes a Shock Baton for melee fighters, multiple new firearms including an Alien Atomizer, a pistol, and the Alien Disintegrator, a new rifle.
There's also a new grenade type, a Cryo Grenade, which freezes enemies for a short period of time. On top of that there are new unique weapons, and a new heavy weapon.
There will also be a new mission specific perk to unlock, called "Xenotech Expert".
It increases the damage you do with alien weapons, including the Alien Blaster if the player had found that in the wasteland.
Once you've finished with the Mothership main quest, you'll still be able to return to the alien ship.
There's definitely a reason to journey back, as the ship houses an item called "Alien Epoxy" which can automatically repair an item by 25%, even if you don't have a duplicate.

I am soooo glad I read this post.
I went back and found my saves on a crashed drive; restored them; and started playing again. Really made me wonder why the fuck I didn't just start all over when I lost the drive. This game is truly immersive! I LOVE the ambient music. A little like Oblivion but in a way not. Going to install the DLCs after I get a little more back into the swing of the mechanics.
Thanks P33ps!

I can become pretty creepy travelling by night listening to that... and imagine you get jumped by a pack of ghouls. I literally jumped out of my chair.
but still somewhat fun! |
Reklis,
Does it completely replace the original game music?
Listening to this youtube vid. http://tinyurl.com/mo5xld
I love the sound effects from the opening of Alien!

Well, I don't think they're gonna leave the Fallout franchise lying around for long - seeing as how successful F3 was and (something one should keep in mind) they even managed to win over old school Fallout fans, not old, but quite a bunch of them.
Don't get me wrong, F3 still kinda feels like Oblivion with guns and there are a bunch of things that are worth improving but Bethesda really managed to put together a game that (by now, after 5 DLCs) is equal to the old Fallouts - only in their vastness of things to do.
I missed the moral grey zones, if you know what I mean.
Except for the last quest of The Pitt it always felt like black-white decision.
When Bethesda makes another Fallout game I hope they take some of the critique and advise from the fans (especially the fans of the old Fallouts) into consideration.
Well, this turned out somewhat longer than intended.
To get to my point again:
I don't think it'll take them that long until we see another Fallout by Bethesda, it was just too successful.

Hopefully the next Fallout will be more, as you said, like the older ones.

Aye, it's true of course that much like any other game, Fallout 3 could be improved upon, which is partially shown by how much the feel of the game can be improved by using a bunch of user-made mods, and how hard it would be to go back to the vanilla game after trying them out. At least personally I would really find it sucky to play nowadays without a multitude of hair and eye-colour options, hi-res moon and night sky, the possibility to seduce various wasteland inhabitants, etc.
And yeah.. providing a similar amount of content in a 3D game with advanced graphics compared to simpler predecessors with an isometric perspective is no small feat. BioWare for instance hasn't managed to provide the amount of content or freedom of the Baldur's Gate games (BG2 especially) in any of their following releases with fancier graphics and better animations.
Anyway, I certainly hope you're right about Bethesda returning to Fallout soon. FO3 may have some flaws, but it's still delivered (at least to me) a gaming experience, immersion and depth/longevity that is exceedingly rare in single player games. They've also seemed to get better and better throughout their DLC-packs, so it appears like Bethesda are listening to the fanbase.

Well at least we have FO New Vegas to look forward to, it should be released next year if i remember correctly.. Bethesda is working on the next TES, so i dont think we'll see a new FO from them in a while.

There's quite a few mods I'd like to try but they all seem to be on http://www.fallout3nexus.com and you cant download without being a member and you cant join because of server issues so they say, its been like that for days.

I'm looking to play one more time through the game and all its DLCs so I was wondering which mods are essential to have the best gaming experience ?
Oh and do DLCs add improvements to the game or only new areas and missions ?
