Guys, i thinking about buying this game since i played it with a couple of friends in lan mode and rly enjoyed it.
But my question is is this game fun online with people you dont know?
Cause you work as an team and i normal online games its just that you go solo if you are not in an clan.

I bought the game even before it was released and never played versus mode. I just don't see what's so attractive about it. I bought this game as a coop game, that is playing with humans against a computer. If I want to play against humans I play a game that was specifically designed for that.
Anyway, what are other good custom campaigns? I played Death Aboard and also downloaded but didn't play Powerstation.
It's just sad that 99% of user made campaigns/maps are complete garbage with a few exception such as Death Aboard (which still is far from perfect or even close to Valve campaigns quality level).

what do you mean 99%?
there's only like 5 campaigns or something.
give it some time...L4D campaigns are huge consisting of multiple maps, they take a lot of time and effort to create.

Still waiting for the Dead before Dawn campaign.
And versus is definately where it's at. Nothing better than having a LAN party with 7 friends, playing L4D versus.

Oh, shi...
Quote: | Left 4 Dead 1 getting new campaign
Valve has announced plans to release a new campaign for the original Left 4 Dead next month, which will be free on PC and cost 560 Microsoft Points (£4.76 / €6.72) on Xbox Live.
Crash Course will work as a traditional co-op campaign, and includes new Survival mode maps, but its "primary goal", according to Valve, is to provide a complete Versus mode experience in just 30 minutes, streamlining the existing approach.
For Versus mode there will be a recharge timer for infected team-mates, and adjusted item-spawn behaviour. It's set in new locations and "bridges the gap between the end of the No Mercy campaign and the beginning of Death Toll", with new locations, new dialogue from the original cast, and an "explosive finale".
Valve had come in for criticism following the announcement of Left 4 Dead 2 at E3, with some fans arguing that it was reneging on its promise to support the first game - and while the announcement may go some way to assuaging their concerns, the fact there's a cost attached on Xbox 360 but not PC will likely raise eyebrows again. We've contacted Valve to ask what's going on with that.
"Since the release of Left 4 Dead last November, the design team has been excited about creating new experiences for this world and allowing players to do the same, by releasing much of our internal toolset, like the Survival Pack and Authoring Tools," Valve boss Gabe Newell said in a statement marking the announcement. "We're working with the fans toward the ongoing entertainment value of the product."
The Crash Course campaign is "targeted for release in September", with Left 4 Dead 2 due out on 17th November. |

what's "For Versus mode there will be a recharge timer for infected team-mates" supposed to mean?
but anyway, a campaign is pretty much the least interesting thing they could possibly release as DLC.
With mod campaigns slowly taking off now, a new special infected or new weapons would have been much more interesting. But I guess there's no way they're doing that now, seeing how new special infected or weapons would steal steam (no pun intended) from L4D2.

I'll take 1 quality Valve campaign over 100 pathetic attempts at user made "campaign" any time of a day.

So, are all of you done trying to be armchair Valve representatives, talking about what they WILL and WILL NOT do (aside from stuff that agrees with official statements)?

Unlike all the people who kept trying to say that Valve had dropped support of L4D1, with no evidence to back them up other than the fact that the new content hadn't yet been announced (and as I have said, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence), I have never made any claims for Valve that weren't directly in line with official statements made by Valve.
Wanna try again?

Ah yes, when a guy is vindicated, and thousands of complete bitches get completely shut down, after months of complaining and insisting that they know more about Valve's intentions than Valve themselves, the best reply that people can think to make to said vindicated guy is "omg dood it's just the internet man lol who cares, I mean it's really no big deal, y so srs? lol internet, I mean none of us really cared at all tbh, despite bitching for months like little babies and forming boycott groups and acting like cunts, that was all just internet lol jeez dood chill out."
I didn't expect better, but it's still funny.
