The title sounds like some horror movie.

Yep it's about levels of the scene you obviously haven't experienced. I have...it's very accurate. When you run a group that actually releases, come back and laugh at your own entry.

You may believe that if it floats your boat.

Its just REAL stupid to make something like that.

Why? I found it well put together, nicely edited and it tells a story, while revealing no secrets. You don't like it, don't watch it. I suggest Hollywood producers aren't flocking to your door asking if their scripts meet with your approval.

Yeah, I'm reserving my judgement on the total concept as well. First episodes of anything are always dicey. According to the closing credits, 12/20. If I can get an early copy, would you like me to get it to you? I got friendly with their encoder.

Np, my pleasure. Wink

Yeah I absolutely agree on the security thing,. which may be the only thing that bothers me a bit about the show. But hey, if the feds are so far behind that ICQ is a "new technology to be analyzed" maybe we have less to be paranoid about.

Cheers.

"Around here?" Exactly where would "here" be, hmm?

As I said, think what you like, I really couldn't care less what your opinions may be (such as they are.) Whatever gets you off. But you've made two assumptions about me without a nanoshred of evidence and now you're degrading to the "stfu" stage.

I like the show. You don't. Why not leave it at that? Very Happy

Children, children the internet was created for porn.

'warez' coming from the Greek word "god damn queer thieves" is a bastard child of the internet. Porn, you may all know it as 'xxx' is the more mature mother of 'warez'. And as we all grew up we spent more and more time trying to fantasize its mother in a slim sexy bra we masturbated to when we saw it in a mall booklet. But as the years passed and we matured we met the father, who left during pregnancy, of warez his name was download.

Now at first download and porn were good lovers. Heck it even made us happy when they got together. But now porn has been thrown aside and download spent more time taking care of his grown up and more mature son, warez.

So why argue about a dysfunctional family? Let it be! Let the father play ball with his son. Let the mother become the perfect image of the girl next door. Fuck in twenty years when you're all millionaires running your own companies you'll forget about the bastard son. For all I know you'd all be raising one of yours by then. So please it's the holidays stop discussing about one dysfunctional family and start pleasing your own.

ps. the more you argue the more work it is for the mods. It's the holidays! They need a break too!

Yup, this is Sony stuff. They don't know everything as you see. But that Linknet server horrifies me as it's kind of a scene haven. You should check out this taken from SONY.WARNS.US.ALL-iND:

Quote:
The.Scene.Episode.1.TV.XviD-SCENE was released December 2, 2004
This video was created by Sony (www.sony.com)
towards the end of the Video there is a name that appears
Rebecca Brandt
if you google Rebecca Brandt you get
http://www.sonyplaza.com/ny/reporters_5.html
apperently she is some sort of reporter for Sony
if you continue to look at the page you can see who else she works with
Seth Hochman http://www.sonyplaza.com/ny/reporters_4.html
Look at his picture. Its the guy from the video with a haircut. Same huge nose and loser look.
if you watch the video closely you can see that when Seth Hochman uses his browser to go to slashdot.org there is a in the list the comes up that stands out. www.sony.com
if you take a look at the bio on Seth Hochman you will see that is states: He is also an avid snowboarder during the winter months and enjoys listening to different types of music including hard rock, jazz, and reggae.
www.freebord.com is also advertised on the video

Alot of people are saying this video is gay and all sorts of other stupid shit. This just proves your ignorance if you do not see a major problem with this. You may think you are big shit in the scene but if you did not see a problem with this video your are nothing but a noob. All you kiddies must have not been here when real people got arrested and real people went to jail. The people in this video may be fake and its fun to laugh at and say... oh this is gay, but if Sony, a company with a major interest in stopping the scene can walk in a pre something who knows who else can. I see NFO's all the time about scene security and people just shrug them off and say they are gay. The only thing that will be gay is you when your cell mate is butt fucking you against the stainless steel toilet in your cell.
If this is not a MAJOR red flag to everyone that the scene is WAY to open then i feel sorry for you people when the next flag pops up. Cause it will be the sirens reflecting off your walls
-say this is gay, call me a fag. I don't give a fuck, Sony was nice enough to give us a major wakeup call of how easy it is to walk into the scene. The question is, are we smart enough to realize it

Guys, I know I'm the lone (so it seems) scener that actually liked the video, and naturally, the thread scapegoat, but you can Google everyone at the company that is prominently in the opening credits (jun group) and find stuff that if looked at in a certain way, can be a red flag. What was the big deal? They used common software, must have read stuff on the scene tech, (kind of easy to find) and put together a story in (JUST MY OPINION, THIS IS A DISCUSSION) what I thought was kind of neat. So I liked it. Mea fucking culpa.

But did they really talk about deep shit? Blowfish? Site channels? Currys, topsites, dumps, the difference between a real group like RNS or Centropy, vs some sillines like "moov33z34uz" IRC distro group. Nah. They just used common chat stuff. AIM? Please. So they got a copy of a decrypter. Big whoop. I thought it was kind of cool. Linknet? It's a default network choice on MIRC! Anyway, they weren't even smart enough to use BNCs. Laughing

In my totally own opinion, caution is always foremost, but I really think this is just what it looks like: some marketing/media company trying out what I think is a sort of interesting idea. I may hate it after the next episode, and yeah maybe a Sony employee(s) were part of the build. But an officially sanctioned Sony release designed to in some bizarre way to 'warn sceners?"

I think you're giving them too much credit. With the stupid shit the RIAA and MPAA do, and the even stupider shit the record companies do (hobble CDs with security software? They already BOUGHT it you retards.Razz ) I don't think Sony or any major media company has the intelligence to do something like this, which willl have absolutely no effect anyway.

Anyway, just my opinion. YMMV.

there is a standard rule not to spread stuff that is freely available from the net, or else there would be demos and shit on sites

It says at the end of ep 2 when the next episode will be released, cant remember it though...

I know that razor1394, what i was trying to say is, there is the advantage of linknet if you don't set your chan to +S so ONLY SSL enabled clients can enter it. They even forgot that on their show. And all linknet servers do have ssl, you just have to set your client to use it Razz

It has NOTHING to do with any "warning or joke" from the industry. Other than your own unsupported supposition, exactly what proof do you have that it is any "warning or joke" from the "industry?" Any? At all? A shred? What would be the point?

IT IS NOT REAL. IT IS A STORY.

It has nothing to do with anything in the movie busines whatsover, and for the zillionth times these guys have told you, it's a work of fiction. FICTION. Surely you understand that it is no more real than CSi? Obviusly the dates are no going to match real rlses.

Jeez, it was in Variety, Associated Press, Wired, and loads of other sources. But they are all wrong and your supposition is right?

Read the news a little more. BTW, I saw Episode 3 on a site fifteen minutes ago. It would have been kind of hard to nuke it on the 13th if it was released in the 15th, hmmm?
