I wouldn't doubt it if that was one of many reasons that dev team no longer works for Lucas Arts.

i would assume more along the lines is it's because the game sucks.
GF's son wanted me to play a few parts for him and god was it such a shitty game, he loves star wars tho and is only 7 so that's all that matters.

The PSP (and Wii and PS2) version of the game is completely different, by a different developer. That's a dumb reason to judge other versions of the game.

Read the goddamn thread, specifically, my reply made to someone else who made a comment similar to yours:
Cedge wrote: | That's not what he said (by the way, the comments were from a single person, not the entire team, so it's "he," not "they"). PC gamers have completely mischaracterized his comments (how typical).
He never fucking said that PCs couldn't handle the physics.
What he said, was that the physics couldn't be scaled, and thus, they wouldn't be able to get the game to run on lower-end PCs (since the physics can't be "turned down", and turning them completely off wouldn't be feasible either, as the game is built around them), which is still very important to most publishers, so that they can have as large of an audience on PC as possible.
He never said that the game and it's physics wouldn't work on PC. He said that they felt it wouldn't work on as wide a range of PCs as they needed, to make it as marketable as it would need to be. Obviously, they've changed their minds on this, now. Be thankful, rather than bitch, and continue to misconstrue his statements. |

Nuh uh, that's what he said Cedge. In that one interview he was all, PCs can't handle it because they lack processing power. I think I linked to the article here, so just search my posts if you don't believe me.

Oh right forgot. My bad.
It was about them being inept developers who couldn't scale back a game to work on older machines.
Which we all know is bullshit.
They even passed it on as being for their artistic sense of the game needing to be experienced in all its glory.
Which we all know is bullshit because lol it's getting ported.
Shit port, shit game, shit devs. lol

you know whats LULZ IS they scaled it to
Consoles:
PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360
Handhelds:
iPhone OS, mobile phone, N-Gage, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable
that was the input from 2008
but PC is kinda magical , every dev knows when making a xbox360 game you get a free PC version that needs only 2 days to port properly ... everyone knows that

They didn't scale it, they removed the physics for the inferior consoles.

The PS2/Wii version of the game is completely different from the LucasArts-developed 360/PS3/PC version, from the ground up, developed by a different studio (Krome Studios, to be exact). There was no "scaling" involved; it's a different game entirely, based on the same concept. Same goes for the handheld versions.
Overlord123 wrote: | They didn't scale it, they removed the physics for the inferior consoles. |
See above. It's not just a lack of physics; the game was re-developed from the ground up.
Spiderman wrote: | you know what, should i remind you that Lucasarts also Hyped the new Indy game that was XBox360 exclusive.... that was later made into a Wii EXCLUSIVE |
That game was never promoted as a 360 exclusive.

Hope they remove those awful game killing sequences where you have to push a combination of buttons at a ridiculius speed. Remeber trying the ps3 demo, got to the at-st and as a pc-gamer it took me quite a while to realize I had to press buttons like that. Killed the experience for me.

Nice news, but I'm not a Star wars fan and considering that is a short and linear game...well, I think I will never buy it.

It's a console trick invented by console people towards conoslies, you need a gamepad to pull it off and you need to be good at playing via gamepad.
