Of course it is Very Happy, You get a new dev team (company) together say, and first thing they do is go right I know lets re-do that old game with todays hardware.. Epic fail!!..

To me the game market to get better needs these "people" to start creating unique gaming style/games rather than try living on the coat tails of whats already been done by the original conceptual design skills that devs of old started the game market rolling with..

You all may like to play better versions of the same type of games, thats good, but effort should be put into trying something different, then trying to keep in line with the "same is good" method of life. So you dont want any new MMO at all, since they are basically just milking the mmo formula? So you dont want a new racing game, ever, since they are just milking racing games?

I guess the only games that he can actually play without concidering it to be milking are old c64/atari games or so... the rest is just pure milking Very Happy Fuck new fps, only game worth buying (so you dont support the milking) is Wolfenstein 3d.

Point is...milking is (according to me) when a company makes tons of expansions/sequels with no real difference from the main game. Especially if they are released right next after each other. That is, if i use the word "milking" at all. Its business so ofc game companies should put money and energy into what they've been successful with so far.
Sims on the other hand is abit special...with its 20 billion addons" that adds just a couple of new furniture and so on.

I love sequels.

Edit: I hope that makes sense...havent slept for almost 2 days now..

shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

Carmageddon 3 is supposed to be in the works, is what SCI said a while ago...

But ALL Carmageddons are better than this... Thousands times more fun...

oh i meant TDR 2000 as a 3.

The 3 you are thinking about got canceled a long time back. If you now don't have recent info that stat other vice.

This blows if they canceled it... Not to mention there is no really way to know for sure which is Ver3 or Ver4, because everyone changed the names around...

True, but Dune 2 was the first with the formula we still know today: build base, build units, defeat enemy, all in realtime. Although it wasn't really the first modern RTS, some console game did it first. I wanna say Herzog Zwei on the Sega Megadrive, but I'm not sure about that.
