And by saying "another week" you mean "another year" right?

Yep. Dickheads at Atari. I'm now actually hoping it gets postponed again, just to see how long Atari can push it before their most stalwart defenders over at the forums will start sighing again.. Or Hasbro. Or whatever.

Nice, will give it a try when I have the time, seems like a good addon.

I only played 2 hours last night, but I can really recommend it so far. Have encountered some interesting companion NPCs (with conflicting goals and opinions) and the area design of the city of westgate is spectacular. The voice acting is also pretty solid. For now at least, it seems it was worth the wait. ~15 hour adventure for 10 euro is a fair price in my opinion.

Will the new expansion get cracked and work with a reloaded original NWN 2 release?

I haven't had time to install it and play around with it but how hard could it actually be?
(It's a .mod module file and a .hak container with some additional music tracks, cutscenes, sounds and so on isn't it?)

MoW uses some kind of DRM with only 3 activations, they delayed it because of the copy protection so i don't think it will be easy to crack.

Atari does use Tages so that sounds like what they've used for the game.
(And no doubt what they'll use for future titles, unsure what else they'll release in 2009 though.)

They use limited activation for a $10 module? Damn, that's hardcore.

I would pay for the module but I think the module will check whether I have the original valid or cracked version. If its cracked version then it probably won't work, right???

This would be something for me to bother playing but as I posted before, I had lots of performance issues with nwn2 while back now when on old 8800 card..
It would be a lot of downloading to get nwn2 and the updates and expansions or whatever it would take to be up to scratch now with latest fixes to find that it hasnt changed on the laggy feel of the game still..
Whats your views JB on it now? im on the 4870 1gb card now, 3.4ghz clocked dual core.. Would it be worth a trip down this road again lol.. Newsbin is great though and nicely organised for a site.

For installation first install the original followed by Mask and finally Zephir, if you want to also install the premium module Mysteries of Westgate afterwards and run the auto-updater two times, first it'll update the actual updating program and finally the game itself.
Can also check nwvault.ign.com but stay away from other modules at the moment and just check stuff like addons and fixes to the main game, bugfixes UI layouts and similar, save the extra modules till you're done with the game or you might get stuck browsing trough a ton of content, if you decide to browse fan-made modules afterwards be aware what version they are written for or updated for as certain patches alter core files that might break older modules albeit most of the popular ones are quickly updated.
As for performance and the engine it's still pretty demanding but it's due to how it scales.
Particularly the lighting and shadow system will detect what your hardware is capable of handling so on modern GPU cards you might run with 1024x1024 shadows as low-end whereas this is high-end for several titles with 2048x2048 shadows as mid quality whereas this isn't really used in many titles of today (Oblivion and Fallout 3 via INI editing, Call of Juarez 1) and as high-end it might go as far as 4096x4096 which will really hit performance or even 8192x8192 which is obviously too high for current hardware, best is to check the user INI files after setting the various parameters to be certain what it's running at, I'm a bit crazy so I left it at 4096x4096 but some areas to chug a bit, particularly with AA and AF being used alongside though shadows are the primary performance cause due to this overscaling or what to call it.
(Nice of the engine to allow it but 4096x4096 and 8192x8192 are pretty much overkill, but I've tried them anyway and still use 4096x4096. )

im laughing at 4096+ lol its just overkill full stop its just not needed for the eye is it? really? lmfao.. sigh,,,
I dont use the x2 card either its just a 4870 1gb but i mean that lightly it plays everything today full whack, but its not go that extra pazzaz with the 2nd gpu for when things get a bit evil in games lol..

I got enough to play now, i wanted a nice rgp to go along side witcher im replaying, but ill wait for that german thing thats out right now in sep to go english lol,, seems alot of people enjoying that one.. (whatever it was called)
im happy with less than 2048 texture stuff as well btw lol, I like nice graphics but its only for if u have to look at something for a long time, if your back and forth and busy it tends to not grab my eye so much if a brick has a drop shadow on the grouting, or wether the bricks have depth to holes blown out of them and so forth..
The only game im playing with insane high texture sets is fallout 3, but hey that is my main game of play right now next to mass effect.

Divinity 2 .. and it's WELL worth the wait, my man. As for NWN2, I was initially raging at the poor coding - but I guess this, unlike the cluster-fuck of GTAIV, really was a case of "scaling for the future" Keep the settings respectable, in regards to shadows, and it's very smooth and very pretty.

I am downloading NWN2 and the expansion Mask of the Betrayers at the moment. I tried to find community patches or a site with good mods for it (if there are any), but no luck yet.
Could anyone suggest me a good site?
