lawl what a nice marketing from the guy part. kiddos prolly get excited about his story no doubt.
i mean look at the car, like its sliding on the ice - no bonding and amortisations whatsoever

amortisations, wtf are you talking about, is that even a word
yep, kinda weird to have advanced tyre physics but no tyre wear, but its still just a need for speed game and not a full simulator.
full simulator??
nfs always about arcade driving , nothing to do with simulation , want simulation , go for forza, gran turismo, gtr .
really ??
at the time i think it was pretty good , the first Colin McRae rally stank , only realy good sims were Mobil 1 Rally Championship (V-Rally was arcade 100%) , Grand Prix Legends, Grand Prix 3 and Grand Turismo 1&2 on PS
oh and EIDOS had 2 great F1 games in 98 and 99
Official F1 Racing in 99 and F1 World Grand Prix that i thought were really really good at the time
Need for Speed Porshe is one of the best racing games ever created.
Too bad the series's gone for the pure arcade instead of the simulation.
well , older NFS games were the shit
i have very fond memories with NFS 2 , 3 , and 4 , playing split screen was just really fun. i guess back then they werent such sellouts and ea actually made good games.
sometime in the early 2000's they went all corporate and started focusing on the money rather than the product , sadly there are like a shitload of sapps who still buy this marketing scheme.
I don't understand how someone can consider Porsche Unleashed a simulator. The game was pure arcade. Every car excessively under steered so we have people thinking "OMG, It's real life!"
Don't bring back those memories man. All I remember about the Underground games is the damn Little John Crunk music played throughout the menus's. It's driven me partially insane.
well , Porsche at the time was really good , sure it wasnt 100% simulation but it beats the shit out of all NFS games that came after ..
i don't have to fond memories of those games :
NFS HP2 : ultra shitty handling and the chopper throwing toxic waste shit was just retarded
U1 : wasnt that bad , but some 7 lap circuits were extremely fucking frustrating
U2 : didnt finish thisone , i was sick and tired of traveling from A to B most of the time instead of quick jumping to races .
MW : the last good NFS from the series
Carbon , Pro Street and whateverthefuckitscalled were just going downhill , from bad to worse to asshorseshitty
As for me - Most Wanted and Prostreet were the best (i dont take NFS 1 under consideration, but it was excellent in its time).
Most Wanted as an arcade racer and Prostreet as a accurate shot at NFS being more realistic.

-I completely agree with you, my favourite NFS games are Porsche Unleashed and MW: the first was really a good game at its time, with proper physics and amazing landscapes; while MW provided thrilling chases, nice cars and cool cutscenes.
-Even if NFSU and NFSU2 were fun too, I consider these games one line below PU and MW;
-HP2 was total shit;
-Carbon wasn't so bad but even not that good;
-Prostret was a good boat simulator;
-Undercover....well, I think it could handle the match against BigRigs
Vaughn Gittin JR on drifting in SHIFT
A video was released lately featuring drift mode in Need for Speed SHIFT showing how Vaughn Gittin JR, a professional drifter, was involved in making of the game. In an article on SpeedHunter he explained his role in the making of the game.
Quote:
Check out this preview of the drifting in Need for Speed Shift. Aside from my car being in the game, I have been very involved in the game development. I have been working on this behind the scenes with the developers for about a year, it has been so hard to keep my mouth shut. I have over 100 hours in developing and adjusting the drifting physics for this game and I am confident to say it is the most realistic drifting to date and you can actually feel it really good using a controller.
Our challenge was to make it accessible to everyone - from an 8 year old used to playing arcade-type games all the way to a pro driver; we accomplished that goal with the different modes. If you approach the game like your actually driving a car and not like your playing a game, you will get the hang of it real quick. I have been a SIM gamer for years and I have never enjoyed a game with a controller until now. I am very happy with what we have been able to accomplish and am excited for everyone to be able to feel it when it comes out September 15th. The graphics are insane and the in-car view is my absolute favorite.
