I don't like how metalcore sounds, all these bands sound the same to me, 20year old boys that think they rock hard, but the music is weak. Makes me feel old and I'm 25, damnit !

EDIT: I mean the riffs aren't heavy enough, it's too melodic, and the voice is just flunctuating between queer and wannabe-hardcore

So, you never listemed to them then?

Doesn't sounds like you did anyway. They can impossibly sound like other bands, since there are very few that use the same sort of timing and technicality (my English skills fail me, i lack better words to describe it) that ABR plays.

Also, "flunctuating between queer and wannabe-hardcore"? Did you ever notice that never sings "clean", and by that i mean with that chorus-style that A SHITLOAD of modern day "metalcore" bands use.

I know what type you're talking about, but you're talking about the wrong band here. Sorry.

Edit: Just for fun, try listening to the whole song

What bands sounds EXACTLY like that? Nope, not that many. And don't just post any band that uses drums, guitar and a singer that screams.

Well, I only downloaded (randomly) their song Composure. Sounds pretty generic to me. Also, I don't like the timing changes and forced technicality, I like traditional song progression.

I can't like this and I can't headbang to it, the song progresses totally unnaturally, it's like copy paste of melodies. Voice is undistinctive, must be 1000 bands like that. Probably more.

I like verse/chorus/bridge structured songs better. Favourite bands are Metallica and Slipknot, you get the idea.

Although if they have a song I may like, let me know.
EDIT: I can't listen to that video you posted. It just starts generically thrashing, no intro. Not my taste.

Well, then it's obviously a taste thing - you like the traditionally structured songs, while i find them (not always ofcourse!) kinda boring and in SOME cases amateurishly sounding.

It's one thing to not like the style, it was just the use of "poser" that really set me off Wink

Edit: And don't say generic. If anything's generic, it's the verse-bridge-chrous structure.

The king of pop is dead. Hail the new king of pop! Razz

J/k of course, but oboy this is not my cup of tea.

I agree with vga in a sence. This band makes me feel old. I like my music to be a bulldozer of torment, not some spazztic glitchy chopped up weird stuff. I don´t get any sence of evil and destruction by hearing these boys. The use of death metal screams in this type of music is just akward for me. What do they even sing about?

I also find it hard to digest that some users on youtube use words like "heaviness" while discussing this band. At least we can agree on them not being heavy? Nothing wrong with that, just saying...

Yep was a good band too. Smile

The singing in this new song is a bit off though. Riffs are nice.

Another good canadian thrash band was Razor. Love shotgun justice. About giving jocks what they deserve. Wink

Forgot how good they were.

Good car music. Even better if stoned obviously, since it is sludge/stoner/whatever. Genre that seems to be very popular at the moment.

Yeah, thats pretty good. But not many women sing like that...which is sad. Any chick who can rock out and has good metal vocals is 10x hotter than any other chick you know? lol

And I'm fine with the pic Smile

And thats I love Montreal.....pic is from montrealmirror.com...so I assume it was taken there. Either which way, you can find some freaky, kinky shit in Montreal....had some AMAZING times in lil France lol Smile
