I got to be honest with you, practically everything you say on this forum, your points of view, your mindset and so forth, well, sometimes it almost feels that I'm having a conversation with myself, as far as I can remember, there was only one discussion that I know of that we had slightly different views on the subject regarding god's existence, everything else that I see you post in here, it seems that you're in a complete sync with me.

I'm saying this because, it was only a few days ago that I thought of making a thread about this subject. Cool

Most people at that age do, regretfully, most of them become numb to it somewhere along the line, unfortunately the age when one begins to become aware of the intricacies of the world around them they also become focused on other shallow and futile things, it is also at this age that most of our biological functions go into overdrive, so only few remain aware of it after those ages, but the greater percentage come to the end of adolescence only to become another unquestionable slave of the system.

Ooh, I almost get chills recognizing the truth of that statement. Although it has to be said you are a bit too optimistic about things Ron, but that is actually a good thing in most situations. Smile

Syco, you are the perfect example of how the system has failed to capture someone with an incredible intuitive capacity. I think you've only recently realized the significance of that, hence why you're so happy now, severing your ties with your ex-wife probably had a lot to do with that. Though it must be said, you have almost unlimited potential now. You should consider a degree from the open university in your spare time. A formal education in biology and physics would complete you. Smile

I wouldn't say recently...but yeah. I put into practise what I've always believed or thought more so than I did.

As for exwife...the second time we divorced, I was already over her. Haven't seen her since. Don't want to. I don't even hate her or resent her dude.
She's fucked and well, judging by her pedigree, she always will be.
You can't hate someone for being stupid as a bag of door knobs. I still don't like the fact that she put me through a ton of shit...but it was also my fault for not ending it for good sooner. I just need to..well, grow a pair really. I did and its worked out for the best.
I was happy before I was with Angela. Happy with her.
Life has a funny way of working out it seems (for most people).

And yeah, I have been thinking of going back to school (seriously). Two things I'm really interested in is Astrophysics and Anthropology.
But I get disillusioned that I can't study at a top notch school (an MIT or Oxford etc). If I am gunna put the time into such an endeavour, I wanna learn from the best you know?
I dunno tho. Still seriously thinking about the school thing.

Would be fun to be back in school this time around. And UFT (Uni of Toronto) is a decent school. I can go as a mature student.
I dunno. Its on the table for sure.

I never disliked school (the work or the learning). I hated most of the teachers. Arrogant, egotistical dickheads imo (the majority, always exceptions to the rule).
And I know it was only grade school and high school, but the lowest mark I ever got was an 80 percent. School was always easy and fun. The teachers ruined it for me.

Teaching used to be a vocation...now its a job with great holidays and good benefits...sad.

I have to agree with both of you.

While I may not speak as elegantly, the vast majority of what AM says and the stuff you say dude, I already agree with.

But its funny cuz I think while you and AM may be a lot alike in habits and such in your lives...I'm the opposite.

Interesting contrast. Smile

Exactly. Very Happy

Dude, I've always had a thing for the 'hot librarian' look.
Angela has that look when she's in her business clothes (not shaby, old school clothing, modern clothing of course). But she has her glasses (reading mostly), her woman's business attire, hair done professionally and elegantly.
But in seconds she can turn into a fuckin super hottie (trust me, I've jumped her as soon as she has come in the door before...hike the skirt up/undo the pants, off goes the top, take her hair down but leave the glasses on and the heels...oh yes....I will be ready tomorrow when she gets home...lol Very Happy I'm serious).

Never thought she would be into me as a romantic interest but as you know, she made the first move. Surprised me.

And oh man, I went to Catholic school...dude, corrupting a nice hot catholic school girl is so fucking good when your in school (obviously, as a man its disgusting and illegal...but role playing isnt Very Happy). Had only 2 really serious christian chicks go 'evil' with me. Fucking freaks is all I can say....those were good times lol Thank god Angela is asleep Smile

Hehe... really... children whining. Parents\teachers\bosses\society force them to learn\do things they don't want to (as opposed do things they want to, like play around) = society is evil. Rohrin and dominae already said my thoughts better than I could. But still there are things I'd like to add...
Came on people, you do realize that every single one of you really wants to be at 'top' of the society. That inherited and logical need, to be the best gene carrier. A 'puppeteer', not a 'puppet'. It means there is no such system that would satisfy such condition, because lets face reality - not everyone can be a winner. Unless of course you stuff every single human into matrix like world of his own choosing, and with his own conditions to it. First analyze your selves and be true to your own needs, atleast in your head. You are the building blocks of this society after all.
Still everything is about perspective you look at things. You learn that as you grow. You choose to be a puppet to loved ones and for their sakes. Is that a bad thing?

I'm not sure how to take this...a) I'm no child b) I don't care about status and being at the top of anything.

U may disagree...but thats because its your perspective you see through and your judging people through your eyes. I know exactly what I want, how I feel etc
Art is a good example. Art can only be seen through your own eyes or psyche, so therefore are you really seeing what the artist wanted you to, or your own take? If so, there is no true art is there?

But I do agree with you to a certain degree.

Syco pretty much explains my viewpoint on this perfectly.

A child's eyes in an adult's body is the perfect state of mind. Never accept things just because you feel you have no way of changing them, that's just intellectual laziness and the spawn of mediocrity.

Technically you are. It's just that you choose to not to view it as a slavery. That is what I was saying about perspective. From someone elses perspective you might look like a slave, but from your owns you are just... do no... helping? having relationship and doing what you are supposed to? It's all about excuse we create to make our lives easier. Razz It's your choice to create them.

I'm sorry but that does not apply to me at all. I only have a good relationship with a few members of my family, namely my mother and father. The rest of my family just aren't compatible with me at all, and I make no effort to change for them.

Really AM you are a fun guy. But you do things to keep that relationship don't you? Like visit them, talk to them, bring them things. Yes, slavery might be a bit too strong of a word for this situation, because you do that willingly and actually want to. But still you do those things spending you resources (even if it is just a time). Resources you had to gather less that willingly. That is what I am talking about. Or you just happen to be a perfect human that has no unwillingness in his life? Technically speaking it doesn't matter that you value your time spent with you parents\loved ones more, than what you had to do to get there. You still had to sacrifice something.

I actually think most of my non-nuclear family think of me as 'the bastard'. I just do not give a shit if they don't like me.

My parents I make an effort for because they give so much to me, emotionally, financially, domestically, that it is the least I can do to make time for them. It is hardly slavery when the relationship is mutual.

Ok, ok it's semantics AM. Razz Mutual relationship doesn't qualify as slavery (given that both parties consider it as such). Although if you would be a bit more egoistical you might view any small thing as slavery, as youth tend to do nowadays.

P.S. It's ~11am here. Gah some work must be done. Sleep tight SycoShaman.

Lets be clear about something, freedom from the responsibility of the daily grind is what allows your creativity to thrive.

Syco has an extremely well paid job, and I earn £200 a week (not much, but I can live off it) from doing fuck all because of a simple project of mine. Money is not really an issue for either of us. That is why we have time to consider the more important things in life. Smile
