i got a mate who bought it.. the manual is a novel

Had a go of it.. if u liked HOI 1 then u will luv this..

it still feels the same ... but alot better.. if that makes sense .....

The resolution is stuck at 1024x1280.. which SUCKS.... especially when u have a lcd with a native 1280x1024 res...

So basically.. great game =]..

90% of people will hate this game.. while 10% will LOVE it..

By the way.. i think most review sites so far have given it about 90% +

Cartoon, try to find the setting.cfg file in the main dir. You should be able to change res from there.

Thats pretty impressive and must be because the reviewers are starting to see just how good the game is at what its designed to do. My only complaint is that the map should have been upgraded from the old HOI look.

Just got the heads-up on this release....

Anyone know why it's not listed here at Nforce?

Also... for those who already have the iND release.... is the patch/enhancement from Paradox (v1.1) able to be applied to it? The NFO says there's no protection, but it would still be nice to know if the latest patch works.

You can get the latest patch here.

No it's not possible to change the resolution at all, it's hardcoded into 1024x768.

Maybe paradox will be able to patch it at some point.

The only part of the game that's a dissapointment, especially when it was possible to choose reolutions upto 1280x1024 in HOI 1.

For the rest very impressive game. Very Happy

Well... if you've never played the original HOI before (or perhaps even Europa Universalis I/II or Victoria), then HOI2 is going to have a steep learning curve for ya.

With these kind of games, there's a lot going on "under the hood" and it can escape most casual gamers. If you find yourself overwhelmed, stick with it.... it's the BEST strategic WWII game in existence. Nothing else can touch it.

Head over to the Paradox forums and pick up hints/tips from their FAQs, too. Lots of activity over there for this game.

No need of a manual, understand by yourself, it's much more fun :°)

The upgrade system is alot better now, I do actually know what im upgrading now.

Btw, if you like to cheat Wink

"%:\hoi2\db\units\divisions" and change the buildtime for the units to whatever you want. Change "division" to "bridages" and theres some files that might be edited there too Cool

Hey, does anyone know how to upgrade ships? Whenever i research more advanced infantry divisions for example, they are upgraded automatically. But i've researched several more advanced battlecruisers and battleships while playing as Japan, but my existing battlecruisers and battleships don't seem to get upgraded Crying or Very sad

Is there any way to upgrade them manually, or is it completely impossible? You could upgrade older ships in Hearts of Iron 1, so i don't see any reason why they'd remove that feature...

Gigabyte S-Series GA-G33-DS3R, Intel C2D Quad Q6600 OC @ 3.2Ghz, 4gb Kingston PC8500 1066Mhz DDR2, Geforce 7800GTX (will get a 9800GTX when they are released), 2 x 250Gb HD's and a case with built in paper and lotion dispenser.

yea add IC's to Upgrades in production. Select a ship, and there should be a priority checkbox, click that to make it to to a top of the list of upgrade pool =]
