Glottis try this: Anno1404.exe -DX9. Add " -DX9" after the last character (there's one blank space before the hyphen). That worked in Crysis Warhead.

My sister once telling me all annos have cracks, and now is true!
Anyone else getting rare crashes? Only happened once, a CTD with no error message. I was placing a road when it happened, not doing anything weird. Oh well, not had problems since.

That doesn't work with Anno. You need to edit .ini to enable DX9. I have huge slow downs with both DX9 and DX10, didn't have that in demo.

playing games on a beta os is silly. The os isnt near complete, dudes change your os. At least have a dual boot feature or something.
tpb threw up a torrent of the crack. Good thing too, i cant get the superbay forums to respond at all.

All my games work fine, if not better, under win7 so far except this. And if you have been living under a rock, win7 7100 is called a release candidate, which means it's almost complete.
I'm playing this in winxp now since I DO have a dual boot system, thank you very much.
All I wanted to do was to let the win7 people know this crack doesn't work under win7, I had no intentions on starting an OS flame war, so I'm done talking about this.
Edit: Btw, in XP, I'm experiencing the same problem that Glottis mentioned too, major slowdown when the UI is on.

I downloaded Sinalco rls but it won't install in English.
Everything's in German by default. How can I change that ?

Download ISO that has English.

Well the point is that it has english. It's multilanguage (GER & ENG). But the installer won't let me choose.

I can confirm the previous posts, this crack causes performance issues with the UI.
I bought the game (full-price, not just a key.), and using the crack reduces my FPS from 45 to 15 sometimes.
Windows 7 RTM, btw. (The game runs perfectly with my key.)

it keeps askin for a serial
found another for german release
1) Anno 1404 German iso mounten oder brennen - installieren.
2) nach C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Application Data\Tages\100663909
2a) oder C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users.WINDOWS\Application Data\Tages\100663909 gehen
3) Wenn der Tages (Unter-)Ordner nicht existiert, einfach erstellen.
4) VCA.bin in \Tages\100663909 kopieren.
5) Crack.dat, TagesClient.dll, dvm.dll, Anno04.exe ins ANNO 1404 Verzechniss kopieren.
5a) Vorher backup aller zu evtl. ueberschreibenden Files machen.
6) Spiel mit Anno04.exe starten.
7) Anno4Web.exe und Anno04.exe blockieren (Win-Firewall reich auch)
anyone to translate?

Just buy the game, ffs. Seems it's worth it, and one can get cdkey online for only 20E. I'm getting it tommorow even though 99% of my games are illegal.

It's obvious that the right screen pop-up info(either upper right or medium right) causes a frame drop.Testing right now different setups but the only option that seems to improve things is disabling the AF.Done this and frame drop now is not so big.

Wrong. Every single UI element causes FPS drop with the crack. For example, go to key bindings in demo = 100 fps, with full version + crack = 8 fps. If you open lots of UI elements in game fps drops to 5.

It's interesting as the legal copy that I own, is easily one of the best optimized and performing games in recent time. But the game will probably get a reputation for being unoptimized due to bad crack, which won't be blamed as the reason, the developers will.
Same thing happened with Titan Quest.

Yeah, Titan Quest was declared bug ridden with lots of crash to desktop issues, when almost all of those were due to the early bad cracks (Securom triggers generated them).
After the patch that removed the protection I was able to play the game for hours without a single issue.
Anyway, it's very likely the developers will remove the protection and the activation thing after a few weeks/months like it happened with other games. The piracy rush from launch will have faded by then
