|
 |
So my brother-in-law came over and we had some talk and he smoked 3 cigarettes in ~30 minutes and now I can't get rid of the damn smell.
Any tips? (besides telling him that he shouldn't smoke when he's here..)

The smell has penetrated your clothes and to a lesser extent any fabric furnishings. The clothes part can be solved easily and the furnishings will stop smelling over a period of time depending on how sensitive your nose is. Or you could cover that smell up with something else.

I'm not sure, you can ask on of the billion people that do smoke, it can make sense if your life is very stressful and stress is very high up on the murder list in the western civilization. You can get a tumor from stress as well, so if smoking can help keep your stress level lower it can make sense I suppose.
I think that's why most people smoke, they are nervous and cigarettes help them, at one point they will try to quit but then they gain weight because they eat more so again they go back to smoking.

nuts,
its a drug, a really really addictive one more than people realise half the time, prob more so than alot of "illegal shit"
Either way if you smoke to relieve stress then reducing tumors lol then shit your just swapping one for the other, get prostate/anal/ or intestinal cancers and your pretty much signing out. Just fucking quit, you can remove stress with excersise, oh look that can be actually good for you while removing stress. geeee lol
Smoking is a mugs game period.. rather more a lottery I guess, as some get through to late 80's or more smoking all theyre life, its just wether it takes hold due to smoking making it more viable at the time for that horrid relentless dissease.
Good luck to anyone that keeps smoking past 30, its pretty much the peak spot you want to take it, after that your body will find it really tough to remove the damage you have done, especially the lung areas.

| Sure you are fucked either way not all people like to exercise though, I love it and you're right, nothing like getting all sweaty and transferring all the muscle pain on those weights, it does help with stress.

I quit smoking about 4-5 years ago and never looked back... I was about 27ish when I quit and was definitally starting to feel the damage... 5 years later Im riding my bike all over the place and havent hucked up phlem-like crap since about 6 months after I quit... Started when I was 16, so 11 years of bein a heavy Marlboro smoker. I LOVED smoking when I was a smoker, but quit as a promise to my kids (plus they cost to damned much!). I just came to a point that it was time.
It really is a nasty habbit, but to each his own I suppose...

Just tell the guy you can't have smoke around your computer. In the meantime just air out your house. It will go away

Can't have smoke around a computer? lol hey, to each their own but if someone said that to me...Id laugh me ass off. I do respect the fact some people don't want people to smoke in their house, thats fine.
But an excuse like that would still make me fucking crack up.

No, lots of 'real computer' people are like that. Smoking build-up kills the fans and the boards and they don't allow smoking in their house. Why do you think the average 'club' computer-scene has such a short shelf life while on job???
It gets gummy inside.

two words: air filters. i had the same pc now for about 3,5 years and i smoke more than 1 pack a day, especially during work - which makes roughly about 15-20k cigarettes. in front of it. and it's still fuckin mint inside |
my point exactly. And clean your pc once a month like I do...simple.
Fuck, every coder I've met or web design dude smokes a ton while working (tho a lot don't smoke when not working).
