Anyone else getting "Save Failed" problems resulting in the game not willing to save at all?
If I keep spamming the save button it comes up as save successfully after a while, but when I load the game the save is gone and I have to start anew. Any ideas?

Are you sure you're not using the first fuel.exe cracked file ? You should be using the razor1911 files, the fuel.exe has to be the original.

Using the 1911.dll file and SecuLauncher.exe that came with the rzr1911 release. Not touched the fuel.exe file and boot up the game with gamesetup.exe as normal. Seems odd as I have no problem with any other game when it comes to saving

Maybe your G4WL is screwed, you can try updating/reinstalling it, long shot I know.
Or try running the game as admin.

using Kaspersky AV??
As i had to pause protection to get past that, saves fine for me after that.

Hehe, I shit my pants when I install some old games and they run their directx installer from 3 years ago ot whatever !!
Thankfully the version checking hasn't screwed up yet and my directx files have never been fucked over.
Best solution would be to inform you if your version is same or newer, otherwise ask you for permission to update.

I always have the latest DirectX redist on my hard drive, after installing some old game I always run redist setup just to be safe

What? No. That would have made the vehicles feel like vehicles, and we can't have that, can we?

Only keyboard controls? No game controller or mouse options? Ick!
It feels like there is almost no skill involved at all in this, it doesn't look bad, but doesn;t feel like much more then a pretty coin op racing game.

I got to see the following variations of environments (in this order):
Green forests, semi thick ones.
Country roads and fields, very large patches of grass fields.
A highway, the first and only one I saw, and it stretched for a very long time, luckily it was heading east as well, managed to reach a top record of 210 km/h too thanks to that.
Dessert, the most beautiful areas of them all, and also the most boring one.
Very thick forests, the most fun to drive around in, damn hard but fun if you manage to stay alive for a long time.
Mountains, and real big ones at that. I spent 25 minutes just climbing one single mountain range by following the roads going up... When I finally reached the summit, I could see what looked like some cloud forming around the other mountains, really nice detail. I stayed around to watch the sunrise, which was amazing. This game really has one of the most beautiful sunrises you can see in a game, in contrast to its HORRIBLE sunsets.
Those are pretty much all the variations I saw from going pure east through the whole map. I found some fun details while climbing mountains, sometimes, the roads end (on purpose, not a bug) so when you're driving at 195 km/h and go right off the mountain, you won't live. Many hidden traps lying around everywhere on those mountains.
Also, what was even more funny, so I went to this extremely remote area on top of a mountain, which was extremely hard to climb, and I look down and see some other nutcase driving around there (through Online Free Ride mode). He was the first person I'd seen since I left the starting zone... So I guess he was just out exploring like me. I rode down to him and caught up with him, he stopped and started talking through microphone and said he was heading to the end of the map to see what happens, so I said alright, and went with him. Was pretty fun finding a fellow rider out in the middle of nowhere.
Anyhow, when you reach the end of the map, you can go a few hundred meters forward, but then you'll be teleported back to the edge of the map again. Was a fun trip, though I don't think I'll do it again, I mean, it's fun, but it's just not fun enough to do again.
Took me 2½ hours to do this by the way, and I pretty much rode straight without stopping the whole time. I'd say that's a pretty big world, shame there's not much to do except casually exploring. |
Man,is this a David Lynch film?
