I got mine from d2cdkeyshop and it arrived in 1 minute and works fine.
I hadn't tried activating before hand and it worked flawlessly.

This game is a perfect example that copy protections work when aren't cracked. Look how many people are buying it. Same happened with Bioshock and even Alone in the Dark. But there are still tons of hypocrites who say that if a game is good it will sell anyway, well that's true, but with a good copy protection it will sell even better Smile

Must be expensive, since it needs activation servers 24/7 from now towards eternity...

And Glottis, i don't agree with that since it will be cracked sooner or later. The reason people here bought Bioshock and now this game is because both are good, or at least hyped enough to make people believe that.

I doubt we would see these "Where can i get a cd-key?!" posts if the game featuring this copy protection was The Sims 3 or the newest movie tie in game Rolling Eyes

metatron83, they are still sales caused by DRM delaying piracy even if it does only work with good games (BTW, The Sims 3 is hardly a minor game, even if not massively popular among real gamers).

I wish all games did use this protection, then people would figure out how to crack it pretty damn fast. The reason this hasn't been cracked is because it's a city builder from some German company and while it's got great production values (at least the demo and predecessors did), the average WOW or CSS player doesn't give a shit.

Online Key Store just had 12 in stock now, but the site died and now they're gone - probably thanks to you guys Smile

EDIT: Nope, it's back up. 5 in stock now. There'll probably be one less each time I reload the page.

Are these keys legit in terms that you have 3 installations & an option to get more if you call the publisher?

If they are it's a great example that good games can be sold for a reasonable price.

What i meant is that, if The Sims 3 would have used this same protection, everyone here would have simply waited till a crack it's released, and not rush to get a key or the retail DVD.
For a good game like this one or Bioshock, everyone wants to play it now.

If it's a good game it will sell, DRM or not.

Edit: What Devi-Lee said also. This shows that $15 is a price most people will pay, unlike $50.
That's another reason why so many people here is buying these keys Razz

@Metatron: True, but The Sims isn't targetted at us, the "hardcore" gamers (I do love it tho) while Anno is more of a propper "game"

The point stands tho. Good protection sells games. The cheap cd keys obviously help even more but that's certainly not everything.

I'm fairly certain both onlinekeystore and g2play.net are run by the same person. Their ordering system and printed invoices/receipts have the EXACT same format. Maybe said person is creating competition in a Queequegs/Pequods scenario (anyone that played Deus Ex 2 will know what I'm talking about Very Happy )

Anyway, the soundtrack in this game is fuckin' beautiful! Best $18 I've spent in a while!

I've got a question though - how come after I complete a mission it shows some of the latter subquests in that mission as incomplete when I was never offered them to begin with? Is there any way i can view ALL of the subquests in a campaign level while I am playing the mission and not AFTER so that I make sure I accomplish them all?

Not that I know of but apparently some of the scripting is a bit iffy at times.
So I made it a habit to just click every docking port thingie (I just realised that I have not the slightest idea how they are called in english O.o)
And something you don't wanna do is build ahead.
I had that in the 4th mission I believe, with the missing children, first time I built and built and built and in the end I was missing three subqests given by the friar/monk guy.
So I tried again and if they told me to get a repair-crane, I got it and not more that kinda worked for me, if anybody actually gets what I'm trying to say

I'd say one store just copied the previous practices/material. I know if I was starting a business like that I'd copy others to get started Laughing

I noticed that - I registered with three, those two and D2 CD Key Shop and they all had very similar signup pages and confirmation messages. D2 has quite a different layout (I *hate* auto-playing videos!) but at the very least, all 3 are using the same content management software, if they're not just the same people.

Almost no game uses it these days..so very few coders care about it.. if every game started using, many more people would be trying to crack it and they would be cracked faster.

Besides the scripting, some quests are also hidden, like the cathedral one in the first level. Just click on everything Smile

It's actually a really common business practice, 'Gamestation' and 'Game' over here are run by the same parent company.

I had quite a few issues with g2play over my purchases there. One person promised this and that, was very literate, then someone else took over, and was a. a total asshole, b. spoke worse english than a chinese gold farmer.... From my email contact it's gotta be atleast 3 I'd reckon.

Anyway, back in topic! Too bad Anno misses multiplayer but has some online profile shit Sad. Other then that it's the best Anno if not sim to date!

I'm telling you, Pequods and Queequegs damnit, I'd bet my left nut Very Happy

Anyhow, I've completed up to campaign mission three on Hard - having to replay them multiple times to finally get all the hidden objectives. There's an achievement for beating the campaign on hard while doing all sub-quests so it's worth it.

Also for those buying legitimate keys - don't forget to enter your secondary key under Profiles/Unlock Code to get a pre-order emblem thingy - and don't forget to play with an online profile rather than singleplayer one.

I usually despise city builders but this one's a winner. It's just so charming and detailed. Does anyone know if its possible to extract the games music files (or if an OST is available?)
