I can confirm it works for me with a valid (and already activated) GTAIV-Key. Are there any known side-effects?
regarding my control issues:
I'm still having problems executing sliding motions (necessary for almost everything) with the D-Pad on my playstation2-pad (+ no-name ps2-usb-adaptor) so I'm stuck using the analog sticks for now, which kind of lack the precision when executing moves like the sho-ryu-ken / tiger uppercut. Still works better than thinking you executed it perfectly alright yet it doesn't recognize the input.
I checked the joystick settings (via control panel) and executing a fast sliding motion (ha-do-ken e.g.) the way I used to do it on the SNES back then or on the classic controller (Wii VC) the lower right/left corners of the "coolie hat" rarely light up. I can specifically press the direction alright, but when performing a fast motion from down to right, it instantly jumps from down to right, skipping the lower right corner. I have no idea if there's anything I can do about it, but there being a PS3-Version of SFIV I just want to know whether the D-Pad on Sony's pads just isn't that well suited for this game or whether anybody else using a similar setup experienced the same issues.
edit:
just one more thing: the difficulty in arcade mode can be extremely frustrating, I gave it another try on medium difficulty and the third opponent finished off the second half of my health twice in a row with an ultra combo (17 hits, exactly same pattern twice) while I barely managed to do 3-5 hit combos. At least it was nice to look at (have to practice more...) - but to me it seems a bit extreme...

which key to press in order to continue after you've been defeated? lol

wrong key substracts another seconds, so the countdown is over pretty quick and after 3 tries I still haven't figured out which key it is.

i have some questions as well.. about the character's special moves..

what on earth and how to do: " <-charge-> " with keyboard.., it's something about the movement keys.. but...nothing (for example it's necessary for guile's sonic boom) I also have immense problems making full circle with the movements keys (mine are W,A,S,D), any tips ?

Im pretty sure I played the benchmark at 72Hz. Did they change that in the game version?

Simply read what I said. No matter what your refresh rate is, the game will not render more than 60 frames per second. Any FPS higher or lower than 60 would actually break the game for tournament-level players.

It should stutter with any refreshrate but 60Hz if it renders only 60 fps and ill see about that in some seconds Razz. If it does stutter, thanks to you, i will know what to do against it Smile

This game has some pretty odd but funny face expressions, only played for a short while though but I did manage to go trough the arcade story with two characters to unlock some extras. (Seems I can now change between Japanese and English audion for movies and what the characters say.)

Game has a marketplace link in the game menu (After the main menu, bit of a odd setup.) so I guess the DLC content will be up soon as well for those who want them.

Does anyone know if unlocked characters are saved in gwlf profile or in a file?

Kinda both.

It's a file that seems to be synchronized with your LIVE profile though I don't know if removing it will reset current progress, will need to test later on.
(Located in the "C:\Users\UserName\Documents\CAPCOM\STREETFIGHTERIV\StringOfNumbersAndLettersHere" folder under Vista/W7.)

EDIT: Config file is located in the "C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\CAPCOM\STREETFIGHTERIV" folder by the way. Smile

For <-charge-> just hold specified direction for couple of second then release and press right button. For example in Guiles sonic boom you hold back for two seconds then release and press one of punch buttons. As for full circles, gl with keyboard, its possible but hard.

Try it with Medium "Model Quality" instead of High.
I'm running it maxed out with a 9600M GT, 3GB DDR2 and a P7350(2.00GHz).

The same happened with the benchmark; even with everything else on low, if the Model Detail is set to High the game slows down to 30 fps when there's some heavy action.

yup, you can. you have to configure the mapping for the xbox-buttons through the launcher (just look for an image of a xbox360-pad on google if you are unsure which button is which). you only have to do this once for each type of pad you are using. for example I'm using the same ps2-pad / usb-adaptor combo twice (both have the same name in the windows game controller-control panel) and I only had to configure it once for both of them. You can do the button-bindings for the actions ingame after that.
