I thought the name would be a big clue, seeing as hadrian was a roman emperor during the occupation of england.
In fact, seeing as the romans originated from italy, and they built the wall, it's construction has nothing to do with either english or scottish masons.
Actually neither nationality had the resources or architectural knowledge to create such a massive structure.
It was built to protect nothern england from the woads, seeing as they were psychopathic bastards who were excellent warriors.

i dont see how a wall that big can stop invading countries. maybe if it was as high as the great wall of china or the berlin wall, but wasnt hadrians wall 1-2 metres high at most?
