Who knows. Maybe not. The shield would be disabled but they could still fly and fight.

it's sad that the film really had potential to be a proper serious modern war of the worlds
and the first half still is the best of all versions of it
but then they went hollywood on it's ass and left it a complete mess

I really liked this trailer; I really like the trailer for The Day After Tomorrow as well. I hope this one is better than the TDAT.

Sorry but Roland Emmerich is just not capable directing exciting movies. All of them where just MEH or even worse.
*ok, I liked the patriot very much *
..
He was producer at trade? That movie was great!

Looks like a standard Hollywoodian action movie to me. The CGI looked good though.

While it might be cheesy, it falls into the 90s classics cheesiness, so it's OK.

TDAT was just hollow. Lots of effects but no substance. The trailer showed all the cool effects, and the story was shit, so after watching the trailer it was like seeing the movie.
If watching effects flicks is your thing, cool, TDAT was great for you, but for me it was not enough.

2012 looks quite rough in terms of mass planetary calamity but I think KNOWING kinda upstages it in terms of shear raw global apocalypse. I mean, when a planet's livable troposphere is literally scraped away vaporizing everything including 1-2kms below the crust within seconds that truly is utterly mind-boggling. Likely NOT possible so fast but the way it was protrayed in the movie continues to send chills even months after the movie making me continue to re-think how such worldwide armageddon would happen when nature says: "yep, times up to clean house and refresh your world. I leave NO trace of your 20,000+ years of existence".
2012 looks more like shifting civilization around like most Meteor, Earthquake, TDAT, etc movies. KNOWING was utter cleansing involving vaporizing everything and laying the surface nearly flat.

Because he makes absolutely terrible movies for hundreds of millions of dollars that could be spent on more useful stuff. Such as waste disposal or picking the teeth of old people or something.

I saw [2012] 2009 720p TS XviD AC3-ViSiON and it was pretty watchable too but this movie only needs to be seen for special effects coz well plot sucks
so 1080p or gtfo!
