Set in a fictional Liberty City closely modeled after New York, the story centers on Huang Lee and his trials and tribulations as he tries to prove himself to his family, get vengeance for his father’s death and reclaim the prized ‘Yu Jian’, a sword that has been a symbol of honor in the Lee family for generations. Within the game, players will navigate their way through the streets as they uncover the truth behind an epic tale of crime and corruption within the Triad crime syndicate, delivering the unprecedented amount of depth that has become a true trademark of the franchise. A game created in Rockstar’s signature style, you can expect over-the-top characters, a massive storyline, insane action and plenty of vehicular mayhem around every corner.
Specifically built for the PSP platform with upscaled widescreen graphics, enhanced lighting and animation; and including all-new story missions; this version of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will take full advantage of the power of the PSP system.
“We’re proud to extend this truly unique handheld Grand Theft Auto experience to PSP and offer a downloadable version of Chinatown Wars for PSP®go,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “Rockstar Leeds has shown incredible talent in creating games that raise the bar in terms of depth and innovation on portables, and with Chinatown Wars we have a rich, fast-paced, and incredibly addictive entry into the series.”
“Rockstar’s work with the GTA series has been an enormous part of the success of PlayStation platforms," said Jack Tretton, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America. “We’re excited to welcome the critically acclaimed Chinatown Wars to the outstanding line-up of great games headed to the PSP platform this fall.”
The Grand Theft Auto franchise has become synonymous with a staggering variety and quality of music over the years. It was with this tradition in mind that we set out to deliver a soundtrack that would capture the spirit of our favorite genres and past stations.
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars creates original music for notable stations, including: Electro-Choc, IF99, Tuff Gong, The Beat and Radio Broker. This mixture of original and licensed instrumentals has been hand-selected by some of the most notable producers, in their respective fields. Deadmau5, Truth & soul, Ticklah, Prairie Cartel and Alchemist were hands-on in their approach to ensure that their stations overall pace and vibe was on par with the games overall, pick up and play handheld style while remaining true to the integrity of a Grand Theft Auto soundtrack experience.
GTA: Chinatown Wars will be available at retail on UMD and digitally from the PlayStation Network in North America and Europe this fall.

Lol, it looks like shit, especially the characters. Also, the videos are fail, no voice acting ? What is this ? And the music sounds lowww quality, kinda distorted ? What do you ppl think ?
Guess I must stop comparing it to the real GTAs I've played for countless hours on the psp and just take it for what it's worth, I hope the gameplay is good and the missions aren't frustrating.

I couldnt get this to work until I had decrypted the eboot file but now it works fine on my 5.50 GEN-B2. If you havent played the DS version, I guess you might be disappointed. Its a step up in my opinion and the lack of touch screen gameplay works well. It looks better than the DS but I guess that was to be expected and its a shame there isnt any voice acting or spoken narrative.
Now Im waiting on the iPhone version ...
May the NFOrce be with you always.

I played for a bit, and it feels good, like the old GTA games 1 and 2.
I can see how you might dislike the style and everything, especially if you started playing with GTA3 or so. But I find it fun
Also graphics are fine, better than the DS at least and perfectly alright for a mobile game.
