Denmark.

Right, we've got pretty much the same law in sweden...but this aint no dumb law. It's to make sure people understand that it's not a moving vehicle and reduce accidents.

A fee is levied on each purchaser of any plastic bottle which is returned upon return of the bottle.

Also danish...and far from being a bad thing imo.

Edit: I have a feeling that many of these odd laws are taken out of context. I saw some that sounded quite good...but ofc, 90% of them (proberbly more) was just pathetic laws thats been around since the dawn of time Razz

Was about to say, how's that a dumb law?

We've got the exact same thing here, as does Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg...

Edit: Again, we have the same thing here. Seems normal law in Europe, retarded Americans don't get it? :E

Also, I looked at "dumb" Dutch laws, and it lists two:
- It is legal to smoke pot, buy it, or have less than 5 grams with you.
- Prostitution is legal but the prostitutes must pay taxes like any other business.
Still don't see the dumbness in either of these Razz

China.

This one makes sense to me. In a normaly country it would just be stupid, but in a country with as many people as they've got in china - its pretty good to stop people from breeding like rabbits.

It's called antinatalism policy.

From wiki:

Quote:
The policy was introduced in 1978 and initially applied to first-born children in the year of 1979. It was created by the Chinese government to alleviate social, economic, and environmental problems in China, and authorities claim that the policy has prevented between 250 and 300 million births from its implementation until 2000, and 400 million births from 1979 to 2011. The policy is controversial both within and outside China because of the manner in which the policy has been implemented, and because of concerns about negative social consequences. The policy has been implicated in an increase in forced abortions, female infanticide, and underreporting of female births, and has been suggested as a possible cause behind China's gender imbalance. Nonetheless, a 2008 survey undertaken by the Pew Research Center reported that 76% of the Chinese population supports the policy.

Sausje has a point here; we don't have a law that says that it's legal to smoke weed (more accurately, cannabis derivatives). We just lack one that forbids it, big difference Razz
That said, it's still illegal to do so in zones where smoking is forbidden - there are even zones where weed in particular is forbidden but regular cigarettes aren't.

It's also not "legal" to grow weed ourselves for personal use. It's accepted, but it's not technically legal. We're allowed to carry up to 5 grams, and grow up to 5 plants (note the "up to") - below is typically shrugged away (although some police do "confiscate" it Smug).

Legal? No. Illegal? Sometimes Razz

Actually having a joint with PURE weed is allowed be be smoked in non smoker area's, as it has no tobacco in it (the non smoker policy applies only on tobacco product).
At least in the shops itself.
