Same here. Worst driver from nvidia in a long time. Mass Effect and Bioshock were stuttering all over the place.

Back to 179.48 for me.

What's the previous WHQL driver before 185.85?

Several times now 185.85 has hardlocked TF2 for me.

EDIT: Nevermind, it's 182.50

Upcoming PC games 2009 and onwards
Bravery is not a function of firepower.

Nope, temps do not go above 68C, only bought this card 2 weeks ago.
I minimise the game, and then maximise it, the artifacts are gone.

Yesterday the display driver crashed....

Some wierd shit happening.

problem is I ain't got much time on my hands to properly test this shit, try older drivers and stuff.

well if artifacts disappearing after alt+tab then it's a driver issue
try uninstalling, using driver cleaner and installing older driver just in case

hmmm....
Can drivers work fine for 2 weeks and then suddenly crap out ?
But then again, I might have experiences a slight graphical glitch earlier which I may have attributed to the game....
And then Crysis Warhead suddenly dropped frame rates to the lower 10s which required me to restart the game...

Most curious

I played Mass Effect yesterday for bout 30 mins without any hitches...

I just bought this card 3 weeks ago.

My last card's memory was fooked, and it had artifacts all over the damn place (lines across the screen and shit).
Screen was fooked even in BIOS.

I will have to run some further tests...

You can't be that unlucky ... maybe the mobo is fooked, or just the PCI-E slot.

Put another card in it or put this card on another PC (as I always advise)

Why do the artifact disappear after I Alt-Tab out and back in...

Could it be that the system memory is fooked ?
Wait I'm not sure if I should call that shit artifacts, looks more like texture corruption. Perhaps I should upload some screenshots for y'all to see.

Look at the 3rd and 4th screenshots, one is in-game, and the other is the Menu by pressing escape.
As you can see the menu itself is fine, the background is the in-game thingy and it is fooked.

should've mentioned that earlier

for ones your memory the one that in your pc can't do something like that

it could be;

a] you are unlucky bastard and 2nd card is fooked
b] it's your mobo that screwed with your gfx card for the 2nd time

did u installed mobo chipset driver?
if yes try without it if no try with it

also more details about your mobo

and of course u can try and test a different card to see if that's an issue

u can also try reformat and see if that helps
