Back to 179.48 for me.

What's the previous WHQL driver before 185.85?
Several times now 185.85 has hardlocked TF2 for me.
EDIT: Nevermind, it's 182.50

Nope, temps do not go above 68C, only bought this card 2 weeks ago.
I minimise the game, and then maximise it, the artifacts are gone.
Yesterday the display driver crashed....
Some wierd shit happening.
problem is I ain't got much time on my hands to properly test this shit, try older drivers and stuff.

well if artifacts disappearing after alt+tab then it's a driver issue
try uninstalling, using driver cleaner and installing older driver just in case

hmmm....
Can drivers work fine for 2 weeks and then suddenly crap out ?
But then again, I might have experiences a slight graphical glitch earlier which I may have attributed to the game....
And then Crysis Warhead suddenly dropped frame rates to the lower 10s which required me to restart the game...
Most curious
I played Mass Effect yesterday for bout 30 mins without any hitches...

hmmm could be that driver had a bad time, depression maybe?
yeah drivers tend to get corrupted with the help of spyware, viruses and just a bad os crash, happens all the time

I just bought this card 3 weeks ago.
My last card's memory was fooked, and it had artifacts all over the damn place (lines across the screen and shit).
Screen was fooked even in BIOS.
I will have to run some further tests...

You can't be that unlucky ... maybe the mobo is fooked, or just the PCI-E slot.
Put another card in it or put this card on another PC (as I always advise)

should've mentioned that earlier
for ones your memory the one that in your pc can't do something like that
it could be;
a] you are unlucky bastard and 2nd card is fooked
b] it's your mobo that screwed with your gfx card for the 2nd time
did u installed mobo chipset driver?
if yes try without it if no try with it
also more details about your mobo
and of course u can try and test a different card to see if that's an issue
u can also try reformat and see if that helps
