I hope the starforce developpers won't be able to disable DT4 other way then by modifying it. It would be nice if they did - they could be sued by DT4 team and, in case of loosing the trial: bye bye, starforce.

Is Alcohol team going to do something about SF3?
If free DT4 and PRO will beat SF3 their shareware Alcohol 120% will be just a pile of useless junk (DT PRO will be able to burn discs/ create images anyway). Looks like they didnt even fix Securom 7/ Safedisc 4 blacklists yet. On their forum they ask people to use third party programs like SR7 Stop etc. Smile

Alcohol uses the Daemon Tools mount engine so I guess there will be a new Alcohol with the DT4 mount engine too.

Are you sure? I thought DT and Alcohol are different teams and DT and all its components are copyrighted. You cant just use other people's work to make money

they use the same Engine.
Alcohol and Deamon share some of the same Dev's and technoligy.

Every Protection Team will be beaten when DT4 comes out cause DT4 uses virtual ATAPI drive ( Alcohol and the other ones are using SCSI drives witch will result in blacklisting ) so maybe that takes for them ten years or more to beat Deamon Tools 4 Laughing

DT4 will be able to emulate every Copy Protection Scheme from this days Twisted Evil

True. The first step is the hardest. Once you know how to beat the protection, you own them. Developping smth new is hard - no protection except from SF3 caused much trouble.

actually the ide virtual drive will come as a plugin for daemon tools pro. v4 will remove blacklisting from safedisc and securom, emulate tages twinsectors on the fly and implement a nice thing for starforce.
everything can be blacklisted, but updates to remove such blacklists are supposed to show up more frequently. the real deal is daemon tools pro, the whole concept of blacklist would not be usefull, cp companies would have to think something new if they want to stop dtoolspro

Yes thats right they programmed DT4 from the beginning new... so they have more time for anti - blacklisting Very Happy
I think DT4 will be the Starforce for Game Companys Twisted Evil

well I dunno but staforce is nasty theire drivers just patch everything from our OS what walks in the way.. I think Starforce realy has to be beaten with cracking methods crackers must find an way to debug the starforce code on the fly so debugger acces at ring0+sf. that is what the problem is cause it can't be debugged at the same time the game is running everything need to be logged and this cost to much fucking time. I vote for an new debugger that can work on ring0 level together with Starforce. , when this has been created Starforce =fucked.

an answer would be hardware debugguer : there used to be a time when it was possible to insert a hardware debugger between the cpu and the motherboard, on the socket. this way the debugger was completly out of the OS.
