Might be a long shot but...anyone have savegames from Act2 lying around? Wanted to finally finish this game (stopped ISO demo for some reason in act 2 long ago) and would prefer not to play everything all over again Sad

Had actually stored my savegames for this, but apparently ISO demo saves don't work with my Steam version Cool Face

I have... Insane saves... Cool Face latest patch

You can change difficulty though I think, but you can't change back to insane. Also have to use registry, not sure if it'll work.

Iorveth or Roche path?

I actually found some saves on nexusmods..but they don't work either in my game :/
Even deleted all cloud files and disabled cloud for the game. Still ..putting the saves in the docs/witcher2/savegames folder or the steam/userdata/id/appid/remote one they still don't appear in game.
Maybe they are too old and not compatible? From what time are your Roche path saves? Very Happy

E: Actually the nexusmods ones are from sept this year

Maybe it's just better if you start again, new EE cinematics and all that (start of game, end of prologue, I think)

I dropped the difficulty to hard and saved so you don't have to mess with registry

Well mine work with the latest version (3.4.4.1) GOG

Activate key on GOG, download all those GBs again (Cool Face) and it should work

I finally found time to play through this game now, IMO it is worse than the witcher 1 in every way except for the graphics, they literally could have just copy pasted the entire attribute-character-crafting-inventory systems from witcher 1 and it would have been a much better game

I hope we won't get dissapointed by the witcher 3

We weren't disappointed by The Witcher 2.

Yeah i agree with that. It is worse then Witcher 1 but its still not a bad game. Witcher 1 was way more interesting and i am sure they will not dissapoint with Witcher 3. But im not gona make the mistake of pre-ordering this time. Gonna wait and try it 1st then buy.

I guess he was talking about X-Rebirth Very Happy

And how is Witcher 2 worse than 1? I really think it's better in every aspect. Only the ending got me disappointed.

Speak for yourself. It was for me, only I didn't realize it from the getgo. Took some time to do that and I still believe that the first game is better in pretty much every way possible and impossible.

Nah, first game is still the best. But yeah, TW2 is a fantastic game, superior to 98% of the crap we see released nowadays.

It's hard to dodge the enormous hype that the Witcher games always generate, especially after all the incredible stuff that we've seen/read so far. I'm also trying to keep my expectations realistic in order to not get disappointed with the third one, but it's nearly impossible really.

I loved the Witcher 2 and still do, but some aspects/design decisions were a lil' bit questionable/out of the place and could have been improved even more (combat, UI, last third of the game etc.). Still, a fantastic game, just not as good as the first one, especially in terms of atmosphere and sense of immersion. But! it's all subjective of course Razz

I was looking for one too, but apparently the creator dropped any kind of support several months ago, and the current version is..not that good/editable. You can add some bloom and a palette, but that's pretty much about it. Razz

The only thing you people should do to this game on that front is disable the game's AA and sharpening filter, force AA through the graphics driver and apply some slight sharpening with SweetFX (just sharpening, low amounts of it, no AA). It doesn't need anything that messes with colors, lighting and other things like that. I use FXAA because I need the performance, but on a better PC I imagine you can do it with better forms of AA too.
