I have a question about the new nVidia SLI solution.

If there are two geforce 6600 GT video cards working in SLI mode and they both have 128 MB memory dos that mean for the game there is 256 MB available video memory or just 128?

And if I have motherboard which uses nForce 4 chip (example Asus A8N-SLI) and but a X800 series PCI exp video card in there can there be any conflict or lower performance with ATI series card?
nVidia and ATI are rivals and maybe nVidia did something to their nForce 4 chipset driers to make ati cards perform lower on the motherboard which uses nForce 4 chip ( Just a stupid thought Rolling Eyes ).

And is this club-3d any good ? I'm thinking of buying a club3d 6600 GT PCI exp ( http://www.club-3d.com/productshow_vga.php?gpu_brand=&ordercode=CGNX-G668TVD&show=&p=&filter= )

Hi well my asus sli board arrives monday ... now i think been in the bloody post for 2 days .... & on back order for well over 5 weeks ..

to answer Ur question on the using an ati card on an nforce board
i dont think they would make it run slow ... think of the shit nvidia
would get for doing that ... me i think i will be going for an ati pci-e
card just now as nvidia have been really slow to fix major problems
with the drivers for the geforce family & that has put me right off
doing an sli system for now Sad seems kinda pointless getting the
board now as i like to play some older games & they just dont work
with nvidia`s latest drivers... so the point of all that is if U have an old
game U really like U better find out if it works on the new geforce
drivers b4 U go & buy the card.

as for the memory i cant say for sure but i think yes that it will
pick it up as 256mb in sli mode.

I have read from the reviews that nVidia is still working on their SLI system and that the SLI isn’t working properly @ the moment ( I mean the drivers aren’t quite ready or some thing like that) and some games doesn’t support the SLI or just they don’t know how to use the SLI system. I think that after the beating that ATI cave nVidia with their 9800 radeon series nVidia has some work ahead of them (the 6000 series is quite good but the top end cards consume to much power and the X800 series is sometimes still faster but nVidia is good).

I’m getting a 6600 GT Club 3d card because i dont have the money for X800PRO or X800XT. High end cards cost a lot of money where i live (they are over priced). And 6600 GT is faster than the X700

My asus sli board should arrive maybe @ the end of this month Crying or Very sad

I'm also going for either a A8N sli deluxe or the DFI board. The DFI board was just released and seems to perform much better. I would personally choose a Ati x850 xt pe infront of two 6600gt's because of better performance. It would also be two much tubes in the chassi if I have to watercool both of them. Now I only need to put a block on one.

remek -> Please write properly. No one want's to read a text written like that.

I would choose a ATI X850XT PE if I had the money and they where available where I live. They are to over priced in here and X800 price should go town soon
