hm the difference shuld be that the -dvd you can't make multisession dvd and with the +dvd you can make a multisession dvd. In short you can add more info to the dvd later if u want.

(asked the same question from the shop and they told me that Rolling Eyes )

uhm that's not correct. The difference with +/- is that with RW's you have to close the RW after each session so -R/RW's can be read. With +R you don't have to do it.

Also look here if you want to know what media to get for the 3500:

I believe DVD - is also the better understood "standard" with higher success rates, with more compatibility with other devices.

Of course that could be totally wrong, someone correct me if I'm way off, this is what I've been led to believe though.

you want to use dvd-r. not only is it more compatible with standalones, it is slightly bigger than +r ... you may find sometimes that you download an image (not a scene release of course!) that won't fit on a +r.

-r also tends to be cheaper... I got the NEC 2500A for $19.95 (a pricing error on the site heh heh heh). along with an outer FireWire shell. I use it as StandAlone. So far, so good. Ive been using - media of varying speed and quality due to the lower price point of the stuff. ATM it's MEMOREX 8x DVD-R. Works well and I got 50 for $20.
