|
 |
so heres ze deal'y... gtx 285 - main monitor is a 1080 hdtv (dvi-hdmi), secondary is a 24" dell lcd with a native of 1920x1200 (dvi)
using latest drivers
heres ze problem:
using clone mode (which is what i want - i WANT both monitors to show the same thing), screws the 24" screen, because its getting the cloned 1080 resolution
doing dual view, sticks me with a MAX resolution of 1680x1050 for the 24" - it wont let me pick anything higher...
anyone help me out? whats the dealy?
edit: id still like to hear any solutions/thoughts/revelations anyone has, but at least ive given myself a workable solution - i disabled scaling, so the monitor now shows the 1080 resolution without stretching to 1200 (i guess i can deal with black bars )

when you clone with nvidia does it clone from whatever the primary is set to originally? Just a thought. I cant remember alot about the span modes etc on those drivers but I do remember being annoyed that they removed horizontal span or something like that.

yes, its an exactly duplicate of the 1920x1080 resolution of the main... which of course is a problem on the 1920x1200 monitor.

and its not possible to set a custom clone size via the nv control panel for sep monitor? That is of course using the custom resolution options for a monitor..?

under clone mode, nv cp wont give me ANY access to the other screen. its greyed out in display panel, and theres no second monitor option under nv's settings. the only way i get access to independent screen settings, is to use dualview, which does not give me the clone option.
when i use dualview, my second monitor only has an option to go up to 1680x1050 for whatever stupid reason (and i KNOW the second monitor has a native of 1920x1200)

Ah fuck yes i remember that now how annoyed i was with the dualview limited options.. It was like all the features you might need but the one you really needed at that time lol. Gay.
Shame really because I am pretty sure they could implement something of what is needed by yourself and many others. Negative tick for Nvidia drivers for me on that one.
