i have a elite console with the latest firmware and for some reason the games i have burned are taking longer to load than they should, sometimes some of the cutscenes are a little choppy and the last game i burned (transformers) kept crashing and each time i had to power off the system/open the tray to get back to the dash
i just installed it and now the crashing has stopped so any ideas what could be causing this?
i use verbatim printable dvds and i burn them and 2.4x with imgburn in dvd-rom mode
Somebody on this forum mentioned tinkering with the voltage of the laser of the drive using a multimeter. I took apart a spare hitachi drive that I have lying around since it is bricked and its really simple.
All you need is a small 2mm head screwdriver and a multimeter to get the reading on the voltage. And you just turn the screw to lower the resistance. I have not done this myself YET but Im planning to do it maybe this week if I get a multimeter. Seems more simpler than replacing the laser.
