Heavy Rain (Indigo Prophecy 2 - same kinda game), is a PS3 sequel. Now I hope that means its exclusive amongst the consoles and will come out on the PC.

The two videos I watched looked sweet, and I thoroughly enjoyed Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy, just finished it yesterday.

Unfortunantely i doubt it, it seems Sony gave Quantic Dreams the extra cash to help them make the game so as a favor, it's a PS3 exclusive and I doubt they'll make it on PC.

Although u never know, MS did pretty much the same with Halo back then, but we got it years after on the PC, and MS is MS, not Sony which isnt porting any of their playstation games since a VERY long time ago now Sad

Heavy Rain is not a sequel to Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy.

Upcoming PC games 2009 and onwards

I disagree, graphics may not be all that make a video game but ARE an integral part of it. Good graphics affect the experience you get when playing a game. It's only logical to acknowledge that vast differences in graphics may seriously diminish a game experience!

I might make even more sense if I use Epsilon's music analogy: You just can't appreciate a song when you hear it from a mp3 at 70 something kbps using crappy headphones even if it is a masterpiece!

That said I want to let you all know that I've been a nforce (sorry nfohump) reader for years but almost never post.

BTW I LOVED The Dig as well as Bioforge, remember buying them the same day.

2D games age much much better than anything 3D, don't forget. Old school adventure games like, probably my favorite Full Throttle, still look exactly like it was intended back then. It's when devs move to 3D and try to do photorealism it truly ages, and fast. So how about saying 'no old looking games' and we'll all get along.

To use your analogy: If it's LA hardcore punk rock classics it would still be how it's supposed to sound at 70 kbps YES I AM COMPARING ADVENTURE GAMES TO PUNK ROCK

Edits: Case in points, Grim Fandango (not photorealism), Blade Runner (not 3D)

Well I find analogies and examples that don't offer much in a conversation, but I'm game!

Hardcore punk songs DO thrive in chaos and don't need to have a good sample rate (hell, punk rock doesn't even need tuned guitars Very Happy) but that would be the equivalent of pong in video games!

In most cases good sound quality (like beautiful graphics) can greatly affect the experience you get.

I guess by photo realism you mean all those "green screen" games everyone used to be so hyped about (The Ripper, Phantasmagoria, Under a Killing Moon,etc.). Gotta install a couple of those I see how the look Razz

This game is published by Sony. Unfortunately, that means the game will stay as PS3 exclusive forever. Sony doesnt want their games on other platforms

Adventure 2D games definitely age very well. It's not so much about 'old graphics' as it is about 'art style', and that's what they've got going for them.

I'd recommend the classics:
Indiana Jones series
Maniac Mansion
Zack McCracken
Beneath a Steel Sky
Full Throttle
Monkey Island series
Loom

Monkey Island 1 is legendary, and probably my favorite. I also love Loom; greatly underrated in my opinion, though it is a bit different.

Anything new worth trying since the last post on this thread? I've not played a point and click adventure for a while but am bored of what I have atm. It will be a summer of FPS as I'm upgrading in the next month or so, but in the meantime can you recommend a good adventure? I've played Broken Sword in the past and it was enjoyable, so something similar to that maybe?

I'm not going to download several of them I just want one good adventure game to tide me over for a few weeks, nothing ancient from the 90's though. If there was ONE which would you choose?

Edit: After searching around Syberia seems to be very popular so I'm grabbing both 1 + 2 now Smile
