Why is it we have so many registered users that are on at all times of the day yet they don't post?
I don't get it. If your going to sign up and be part of the forum. Post.
No one will flame those of you registered you have lost post counts or anything.
So to those who are reged, POST MORE guys
This is what the forum is about. Discussion, debate, varying opinions...as long as they are conducted in a mature fashion
If your registered just to view topics, its pointless as you can do that as a guest.
Anyone (as in the regs) have any thoughts on this?

1) They feel threatned that dazz is gonna come swear at them..
2) They really are just leeching info mofo's to the highest degree and cant spend 2 mins to say hi etc as that steals valuable searching time.

3) lazy lurkers who just registered so they can hit the "view new posts" button - far more comfortable than searching through subforums as a guest.

The problem isn't the two minutes it takes to write a post, but the time it takes to keep up with all the threads. Some threads move so fast you need 15 minutes to read up on all the posts that happened after a reply, and when you finally reach the end of a thread you realize that the topic has changed during those new posts, and that the thread isn't interesting anymore.

Good point
Maybe there should be a rule that if you register, you have to post.
Why reg and not post?
When I first register 6 or 7 years ago, I got the feel of the forum and on the 3rd day here I started posting.

True
But I only come on the Forum when I have time to go through the threads you know?
If you don't have time to spend 20-1 hour responding/adding your opinion etc
then don't come on and wait till you have free time and are chillin
Thats what I do.
I'm not around much as I used to be cuz of work but I have the next 2 days + long weekend so I have the time to spend an hour on the forum.
And even still. When there's nothing on tv, nothing to do. What better way to spend your time. Conversing with intelligent, funny, insightful ppl....

You're right, but i like to quickly browse the forum in between different tasks at work, take a quick break, read up on some interesting/funny/disgusting things and then continue work with a clear mind. but with threads moving along at mach 2.1, that tends to be a little difficult

They are all FBI agents, collecting info on all you mofos, in an operation called Operation NPiracy. Lead agent is Paul C. Boundle.
Immunity and/or amnesty will be given to the first one to guess what the "C." stands for.

well there are some forums which enforce this by pruning users with zero posts from time to time...but from what i've seen, this only makes the lurkers spam some shitty posts so they don't get deleted.

It's better to think of the zero-posting lurkers as the common rabble outside our exclusive gentlemen's club, where we distinguished upper class gents enjoy our fine cigars and brandy while engaging in meaningful discourse of today's hot topics.
And while we sit in our exquisite leather chairs in the lounge, all comfortably placed near the fireplace, they stand outside in the cold, gray rain with their filthy, grubby hands to the glass - gazing inside while thinking how great it would be to be inside.
That is, until one of our butlers like Epsilon goes to shoo them off with a broom or a bucket of water.

Because of this thread I will now in solidarity with the non-posters refuse to post in a total of 12 seconds of my choosing, spread out over the next week.
8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

I think that there are lots of people who register in hope that they'll dl sth here, and if they don't make new post in newbie section : Where can I dl things and torrentz?? they actually read the rules and give up...

I registered back in -02 (think it was -02.. might have been -03) but started posting here maybe a year ago. So why didn't I post for 6 years? Well first of all I hardly ever used the forum part of nforce.. was more interested in the nfo database. Secondly because it takes a lot of time to be acknowledged in a forum. And this forum is no exception. You have to have a certain post count, or post a certain number of posts per day to establish a presence, or you will be ignored. No one will pay any attention to your posts and you'll stop posting. It's only natural I guess but there it is. So unless you decide you have the time and you're gonna make the effort to be a part of the community there's just no point to posting.
Is what I think anyheeew.

There's definitely a certain amount of truth to that, it works exactly the same in real life too. You need a reason to value another persons opinion, and one of the only distinguishing factors in a forum is post count. At the very least it shows an individual is consistent enough to not be perm-banned. |
Then why are here you cock monkey? No one values you opinion You know your my bwoy...sorry, "mate".
