I suspect my VGU is now dead.
Heres the details:

A few months ago I was getting no signal on my monitor.
I don't recall what I was doing at the time I had the issue.
I swapped to the alternate dvi output and things worked fine.
Just yesterday I was listening to some music and the screen just froze up and I had to do a hard shutdown.
I have been unable to get any signal from that point on.
I tried both dvi outputs.
The fan on the VGU is spinning up, it's a zalman aftermarket cooler.
I reseated the card as well.

I tried the monitor on a 2nd PC and it's working fine.
I tried the 2nd PCI-E slot on my mobo and still no go.

I think that only leaves me with a VGU issue.
I've only had the card in the system for about 8 months.

Time for me to try and RMA this video card?

I don't have either of those options available to me.
My old system has no PCI slot and the card in it is an AGP.

What could it be other than the VGU?
I don't believe both PCI slots on the mobo would be dead in unision.
Everything else is working fine, i've currently got the hard drive yanked out and in my old PC until I get this resolved.

I'm still covered by warranty so I should be able to send it off to Gigabyte in this case to have it looked at.
Wanted to exhaust whatever I could before sending it off.

I kinda get the feeling my aftermarket cooler may have played a hand in this issue coming about.
My temps dropped about 20c after installing it but maybe the temperature on a part of the VGU I wasn't watching was really high.

Am I correct to assume my warranty has been voided by replacing the stock cooler?

Update: Got card back from Gigabyte yesterday.
They wouldn't give me the details on what went wrong with it but they did say they threw it out and just gave me a whole new replacement.
So far, so good.
