New version of LIVE, sorry but I don't know what's changed or new with the LIVE interface or Marketplace program.

Just updated, everything works fine.

I played some more and looks like I'm getting some weird stutter in GTA4 that I never had before this LIVE update. And weird part is that other 2 G4WL games that I have installed work fine.

New update was released for Windows live today and it fixed the stuttering.Runs great!

Razor 1.03 + Latest Windows Live works great. Strangely I can play online too for some reason (before they booted my key off). So everything is working!!

Make sure you uninstall the old one first from control panel (2 entries)

No need for that. I just installed manually the new version of GfWL (because for some reason automatic update doesn't work anymore) without uninstalling the previous one. It worked just fine.

Same. Installed new one over the top of old one and all works fine, no more stuttering \o/

So, how optimized has the game become with patches? Decently runnable with an E6600 and a 8800 GTS 320?

Not as much as others want you to believe. In game if you had 30fps before you might have 32fps with patch.

That's not true. The latest patch did improved a lot. Also with shadows off you gain an enourmous fps boost (10+).

well, i finished the game with Q6600 and 8600GT
and i got a signifigant performance boost by overclocking the cpu from stock 2,7 -> 3 GHz
so yea, i'd say you'll probably have a bit of trouble with the cpu side
they cost pennies these days, so buy a shiny new one (check that your current mobo supports it tho)

Smooth as butter here, High settings, specs in sig. I'd say the combination of extra vram and the latest patches have made the game much smoother.

yeah, people look at the benchmark and say "i get 50 FPS so its super smooth for me", the problem is the benchmark says nothing about the in-game performance.. If you get 50 FPS in the benchmark you get 25 FPS in-game, so you need at least 60 FPS in the benchmark to get "good" FPS in game..

I'm running the game on a E5200@3.66GHz, 8800GTS 320MB, 2Gb of RAM and I'm scoring 49 fps on the benchmark versus 33-45 fps in-game. I've got everything on medium(except shadows that are turned off and details at high) and all sliders at 25(except for shadow density) with forced 8xAF from the Nvidia CP.

Strange thing though, the benchmark scores 52 fps if I run the game in Windows 7 instead of XP, but lazy texture updating in certain places makes me want to play the game on XP instead. I hope that the next Nvidia driver for Win 7 will solve this.

Personally I never look at benchmarks, I just play the game and if it's smooth it's all good, if it jitters I lower the settings.

"good" FPS in game to me isn't measured in FPS, it's measured in how the game plays Wink

Game feels alot smoother if you play with a gamepad and have motion blur enabled.

the only reason to play it on PC is that you can use a mouse to aim, gamepad sucks for GTA imo.. I just love my Logitech G13 and G9 Smile i really recommend the G13, a big improvment over using WASD imo..

Or go the combi. Mouse / keyboard on foot, pick up the gamepad when you hop in a car.

With "extra vram" you mean the -availablevidmem command? I have a 4870x2, should I edit something? Confused
