You should really look into 3x2GB for the RAM. While still not that cheap, with this combination (3x1GB), you are locking yourself out of upgrading, and you will need to throw away your mem and buy new one. I think you should consider 3x2GB configuration at a slightly higher price.
Edit: Haha, Nouse...

Nah, 6x2 is an overkill for now. If it supports 6 slots, then you could upgrade yes, but still recommended is a 3x2 setup.

3x2 is the perfect sweetspot. You don't need more, it's fairly cheap with DDR3 these days (still nowhere near the immaculate prices for DDR2), and 6GB will future proof the PC a few years, and you still have free slots if you want to jump to the next level.

unless you do video editing for a living, get a PII C2Q and put the money saved into a better videocard, 4890/GTX275

Each has its own strengths and weaknesses, run ten games and the 4870 will be faster on 5 of them .. while the 260 will be faster on the other 5.
The 4870-1GB is considerably better than the original GTX-260, but pretty much equal with the GTX-260 c216.

Nvidia because of the compatability with more games - less bugs and problems.
Ryzen 5 5600, ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II, Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32GB 3600MHz C16, MSI RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC , Corsair RMx Series RM750x. AOC AGON AG324UX - 4K 144Hz 1ms

That makes no sense and is generally horrible advice.

Why? Just look in the games forum. I have seen so many ppl complaining about problems with their ATI card because of drivers. How many games do you start and see the ATI logo?

You're basically basing your "Preference" on which of two companies dumps more money into marketing. That's extremely smart.
The entire ATi = bad drivers thing is something I haven't heard in a LONG time and is nothing but internet bullshit. Having said that, I find it unbelievable that anyone can even hold a grudge against either company and worse yet based on your response, one you have no experience with.
And yes game forums is where 100% truth can be located. There is no user error, hardware/software issues, or a million other variables involved. Instead you hear a small minority of whining nerds who blame every and all issues on drivers. Great insight on your part.
Anyway to the OP. You can't go wrong with either card, both play 99% of modern games wonderfully.

Yeah well, fact is, i cant even remember someone complaining about their Nvidia card. ATI on the other hand.. just from the last few days, there was something about drivers in the Chronicles of Riddick post and this in Clear Sky:
Spoiler: | |
You talk about minoritys but i still only see ATI users complaining.
Also, its fact that Nvidia spend a lot of money on getting their logo on most games. That in turn means better support for Nvidia cards. The only benefit i see with buying ATI is the price tag.
Last ATI card i had was a 9800 pro.

I complained about my old Nvidia card, a BFG 7900 GT. The drivers then were truly utter shit under Vista. In fact, I'm sure the other 479,159 Nvidia users were equally pissed off at the time as well (Google "nvlddmkm vista").
http://arstechnica.com/hardware/news/2008/03/vista-capable-lawsuit-paints-picture-of-buggy-nvidia-drivers.ars
Just as you mentioned above with regards to Stalker, I've also read similiar early Nvidia problems running Fallout 3 (e.g http://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion/index.php?t86415.html ). But I have to admit that I don't base my viewpoint on a hardware product via some small sample of problems on forums.
I don't care if it's an ATI / Nvidia card. For me, as long as the video card offers me the best reliability, performance and value for money, then that's the graphics card I'll buy.
