You don't need 360 controller emulator for GTA4 anymore. The game now has DirectInput support simply enable it in game and any controller should work out of the box, with perfectly predefined buttons. My Logitech Dual Action did. The only problem is that if your controller doesn't have pressure sensitive trigger buttons like the ones on 360, then you won't be able to switch between autoaim and free look aim on the fly, lucky you can still toggle that in menu.
I wanted to mention this yesterday but forgot

help, when i start the game my screen shuts down with this msg - Not optimum mode recommended mode 1400x900 60Hz
any ideas how to solve it?

Some amazement: Took a chance and bought this bitch on Direct2Drive and tried it.. FAIL... Installed patch 1.0.3 = AMAZING SUCCESS
This thing runs so smoothly on my RIG... Graphs are quite amazing for what I have:
P4 3.8GHZ
3GB RAM
512 Geforce 7950GT

You guys really experience better performance after patch 1.0.3?
Cause I only see the difference if I set shadows to "disabled", but then the game looks like shit...

Runs about the same with 1.0.3 here too. If you want better performance when driving at night set shadow density to 0. It will only turn off shadows that are cast from car headlights and for me gives a nice performance boost at night.

Hey folks, If I have the xlive.dll in place how can I have multiple save games? I want my daughter to be able to play but I want my own game as well. w/o the Live login can I do this?

There is always about 10-20 games going at all times. Never had problems with playing GTA4 online.

You ought to upgrade that processor though KGen. An E8400 or higher would be nice.

Yep, i've got practically the same setup but with a e6420, CPU is a huge bottleneck in quite a few games.

Yep, I agree. The thing is, the vast majority of games out there run flawlessly on highest settings, so it's somewhat annoying seeing this one game making problems on medium settings.

i had E8400 @ 3.6Ghz than i upgraded to Q6600 @ 3.2Ghz ... now runs better !
